A serious question here, but can someone honestly say they can see the difference between these? Without zooming at least 800x in Photoshop, can you honestly say you can see a difference in quality |:

touhoup is noticeably darker. this is at a distance of one foot without zooming. i can't tell how many layers though.

EDIT: aria has no noticeable difference at the same distance.

Oh good riddance people.

Now let me ask you this, even if you managed to squint from a foot and notice the difference, does that change the fact that if there was no comparison, you'd have no idea that it was a posterized signature?

RE: the overall quality of the signature has not changed one bit from posterization. Your arguments on posterization are invalid, or minute enough to be dismissed on a overall level. Do not pass go, do not collect $200.

this. i don't even know why they argued about the loss of quality in the first place. all the sigs i've made so far exceed 120 KB without posterization. strangely, some of them when posterized have no change in filesize.

I never needed the urge to use posterization on all of my work to date. I didn't know it existed till like few months ago. But it wouldn't matter as long as I can work around the resolution and colors. It is a helpful feature to fall back on if you exceed the limit or want to downsize it with no to minimum quality loss, but at the same time it's not what everyone likes and prefers or feel comfortable about.

This.
Although tbh Xyresic's samples have convinced me that posterizing small images isn't such a bad idea if you're desperate for lower sizes.
The difference is much more visible in larger images. One of the most annoying side effects I've noticed is that color contours become kind of segmented.

Agreed. As long as you keep the original and never show it to anyone! Haha. It's a cool feature to keep in mind. Sebur taught it to me. <3

In the end i liked the bomb so i put it back in, the finger was annoying so i removed it, unfortunately some power dust was stuck to it so i had to paint them back in.

None came to mind, go ahead and push the "I'm going to invest time into making this, but what if I make something you don't like?" button and see what you can whip up.

^ i think i get what you mean. if that's for your personal use and you like it i'll leave it at that, personally though i'd give it a border of sorts.

ooo it could use a cinema border on top of the square border but that's going to be a pain blending it in, i'll to it tomorrow.

man, i really liked that homura stock you linked to, Xyresic.  :)

i think what i mean by "tears will become melodies tonight" there is pretty obvious...
anyway, i put that text there because i was listening to that album while making that.

Thanks, it was one heck of a pain to extract too.

^ indeed. from the looks of it i bet you didn't do it in one sitting. even for something with white background it looks pretty darn complex.

Well, the render was mostly complete by one sitting, background cleared, etc. But the problem was that I'm a perfectionist and that the white background left nasty streaks of white near the edges of the render, I took it upon myself to get the render to not only blend into a white background, but also a black one (and pretty much any color in between).

So the fine tuning process took like a few more days, in multiple sittings.

Yea, this was what the render probably looked like without the fine tuning (quick re-do from saved path):

Oh god, lolno. I would die from patience before manually taking out tiny strands like that. Also, the pentool is not suited for extreme fine-precision (hair strands, etc.) other advanced extraction methods such as channel masking, etc. > pen tool in those cases.

The technique I used for extracting Homura-chan however, was a combination of traditional pen-tool rendering and the background eraser tool in photoshop, which does wonders in terms of removing a single color from the background, and becomes especially useful when you're dealing with anime-like art with transparent colors ontop of a solid background.

Please refer to my post in the last page and open the "slightly NSFW" spoiler for more details on this technique.
