It's a handy technique to know, and a relatively obscure one at that (since, lol-background-eraser-wat-is-dis-crap //overlook). Really good for impressing Photoshop power users who think they know everything in Photoshop and then see them go O MAI GWAD WAT IS DIS EYE DON' EVEN-

i think it's patience and practice you lack. not skill. you're current sig is pretty good.

I lack skill, believe me when I say it, i'm no longer able to draw like I used to be years ago due to some events, unless I work several days on it.

I do not really like sparkly thingies.... might try making something like that one day, but I doubt I like it. Tried before and it did not fit me at all, hurts my eyes >_< I do not like bright thingies as well

(Although I don't really see translucent regions in your render, why'd you use the background eraser? O_o)
