Dropbox links result in the same for me. Can still copy paste the link and then see it though.

Oh. I saw it. You can quote the post and then take the link and paste it and then the hotlink works however straight up hotlinking like that it doesn't appear unless you do that. Standard image hosts etc all work though.

i seem to have misread your post. dropbox stuff always worked fine for me on any browser.

That depends. Any dropbox links? If you are talking about your own then the image is already cached so it just links to that. Hence you can see the pic.
