How to add borders in Paint.NET:

Set the secondary color to the color you want for your border.
Open the image, the select Image>Canvas Size, select By Percentage in the window that opened, set it to 101% or 102%. Press OK.
Select Image>Resize, and set it back to the original dimensions (150x500 or 200x150, whatever)
You now have a border

So how's my new set, didn't get any comment on that. :'( (please ignore the quality for now, getting the screenshots from a PV ain't easy). I actually increased the contrast, decreased the levels and the brightness a little. I think i might have overdid it a bit, though I prefer the sig the way it is, the stock pic sucked imo.

Nonono I think it looks pretty good. Of course, a sharper image would look better in the avatar, but it's still good.

Nice...though i liked the previous avatar better. And you might want to change the color of the border for the sig, it's not matching too well.

I believe paint.net can also do shadows. or at least, do something similar to shadows.

1. duplicate layer you want to have a shadow
2. color the entire layer black(or whatever you want, depending on what kind of shadow we're talking abuot)
3. do a gaussian blur on said layer
4. adjust opacity
5. move it around a bit.
6. shadow

Is it just me, or is the fire effect creeping into her space more in the second ava pic? She feels brighter, and also a bit softer/out of focus. I'm starting to get a bit cross-eyed at this point, though, so that might be my eyes playing tricks on me. Personally I prefer the third one, anyway, but that's just because I'm a sucker for alluring stares.

For quality, wouldn't it be easier to grab a SS from the OVA, which has a 1080p version? I haven't watched the BRS OVA in a while, though, so maybe it doesn't have anything you could use that's similar in tone to the PV (which I also haven't seen yet). If the PV came out a while ago, there might be some new fan art for it coming up soon, too.

Eh, leaving off implied subjects is probably something anime watchers are more at risk for, anyway. When it doesn't destroy the sentence, I do it all the time. I'm sure any of my old teachers would mark me all over in red for it, though.

@Mistgun: Nice job on the border for your sig. I prefer the second avatar for being more badass. Third has an interesting expression. Your choice there.

@ph4zr: In my city, it's common for younger english speakers to drop subjects and pronouns while speaking. I don't do it while writing or while formally speaking, but I'm noticing that I tend to do it when typing fast.

The preview was awesome (i.e. the intro song), so I wanted a set done from the video. As soon new artwork comes out I will change it, probably.

I will wait and see for some more opinions and options and decide.
