Castle of Shikigami III - best game no one has heard of
« on: June 11, 2008, 08:37:25 PM »
It came out not that long ago for Wii and I cant stop playing it. If you like shooters or just want an unusual and very Japanese game then I would definitely recommend it. Its a colorful crazy bullet hell game with a really surreal story and quite a bit of dialog. Which sounds like a weird mix but actually gives the game a really trippy feel. Its all I have been writing about for the past days in my blog if anyone is interested.

Here are some pictures:

ehhh, definitely not the best game no one has heard of. It's a decent top down shooter, but the shmups market is overly filled, and shikigami III isn't revolutionary and really doesn't stand out that much. The characters need to be balanced more and I think that $30 is a little too high for a game this short.

Ok maybe not the best, the title was more to get peoples attention but its really really good imo.  I love how the weird surreal story works together with the almost psychedelic visuals and the kick ass techno music. I have never played a shmup with this much atmosphere before, thats revolutionary enough for me.

I've played the PC version about 1 year ago (and in the arcade back in 2005).
Shikigami no Shiro 3 was decent, I was somewhat surpised that "Time Gal" Reika was a playable character.
