Ah, wonderful! THats how Zero no Tsukaima should be. I just finished watching the second episode and I like how this season has been written so far.

(click to show/hide)

And I'm being serious, I wouldn't have cared if it wasn't funny, but it was funny, so I liked those two parts (its not because I am a pervert who likes seeing that sort of thing ::)).

I loved the second ep. And I must admit that even though I... oh, wow, spoiler tags are working. sweet.

I just wish they'd stop throwing all these other girls at Saito... I think it detracts from the main story somewhat.

And big-breasted elf? wtf? The Japanese are weird.

At least it IS an elf :D.... Wish there were more cute elves in anime, and not only in hentai...

Japanese like to borrow things from European culture, but they tend to show little respect to details. If it looks cool, they're going to use it without thinking about the essence of a thing. So, if Japanese teenagers are crazy about big breasts (and judging from the majority of recent shows they actually are), then adding them to elves makes elves even cooler, or so they think. Personally, I find it extremely irritating, but it's been a long since anime producers has forgotten the basics of anatomy...

Yes, fortunately Louise is a pretty much a loli. She is on the older end of loli -- a 7/10 (yes loli-ness can be quantified).

You just reminded me of quantum physics all over again >_<

So, what defines a quantum of loli? How many quanta would Siesta and Tabitha have?

Yes, fortunately Louise is a pretty much a loli. She is on the older end of loli -- a 7/10 (yes loli-ness can be quantified).

I'd give her an 8/10 and Shana 10/10.

and yes, loliness can be quantified.

the unit is, gasp, lolis. the higher the number the more loli.

it is an aggregate of appearance, social maturity level, and speech pattern. It DOES NOT measure which character is a better loli, just which one is more loli.

Siesta is about 3 lolis. Louise is about 20 Megalolis. Shana is about 17 Megalolis and Shana-tan is 200 Megalolis.

So, do lolis come in different flavours too? Tsundere, yandere and plain-flavoured lolis? Does this tie in with moe-ness?

different scales. we're talking about inherent loliness.

Louise and Shana are obviously both tsundere characters, though.

... I personally don't think that Louise is very much a loli at all...

I mean, in terms of loli-ness, she doesn't strike me as loli; more like a flat-chested, immature, teenage girl whose voice isn't even all that squeal-ish. Now, Shana is somewhat there... but still doesn't look that "loli" to me; more the same of Louise, really.

Some pictures of Etna or Flonne (Disgaea), on the other hand, are quite there (though Flonne's voice is the only one that sounds REMOTELY loli out of the both of them...).

That's not to say I'm that crazy about loli at all, or as much an expert as some people here, but I kinda find it mysteriously optimistic that lolilovers would quantify either Louise or Shana with such high levels of loli. They just don't look or seem too loli to me... >_>

Now, I mean, this, to set the standard, is loli up the ass!!!:

I don't think either Shana or Louise are there...

Cute, huh?

I tend to think more along the lines of Higurashi No Naku Koro Ni or Lucky Star (or Kodomo No Jikan, though I haven't seen it) when the word loli comes to mind, but different people have different standards I guess.

loli = undeveloped + cute

So, it's not precisely the matter of declared character's age, but the way she's presented. In other worlds, if explicit focus is put on some prepubertal traits of girls with overall attractive appearance, we can start counting points on the scale of loliness :) Funny thing is that formally even Lina Inverse is a loli character :D

Well, not all the guys are brainwashed by media :) In order to have natural big breast, girl should be of particular body type, which is quite different from being slender. If you want a thin or even frail girl girl with huge breast, there's only one way - silicon. Take a look at classic paintings - artists back when also paid tribute to large breasts (which is instinct based preference), but the women there are obviously different from nowdays models.

Elves are described as graceful, almost frail creatures with delicate features, and this is exactly the image I like. Naturally, big breasts have no place in here, as well as silicon, because elves are pretty close to nature and won't go for artificial adjustments :P

When I think elves I think of (a) ass kicking mages and (b) Dedolit. Dedo was probably the perfect elf from a physical and emotional stand point (she had a bad case of wonder lust, which I associate with elves).

Well, I think about Tolkien and D&D :) If you mean Deedlit from Lodoss thing, then it's actually a D&D adaptation, and yeah, in anime she's pretty much a model of an elf. Unfortunately, Pirotess as a model of a drow was more of a failure, but it didn't prevent her from being an interesting character.

Deedlit was (and probably still is) my dream anime woman/elf, and when Lodoss War got boring I kept watching just for her.

Loli is the last word I'd use to describe her though, LOL.

I wonder if it's legal to consider Lamhirh being an elf. Either way, she was an awesome character (and not a loli as well) :)

Lodoss Wars is an anime adaptation of an actual D&D compaign. They  wrote down their journey and wrote several novels.

@kureshi: Dido is pretty close to being the perfect anime woman.

True, I guess it was a replay anime. But I thought that they were publishing manga, not novels. It also looks like at certain point they switched from D&D to their own system. Actually, I even have a Lodoss setting for Fuzion, but it's not like I'm really familiar with this system :)

BTW, judging from ep.3, Saito is finally learning to behave himself :D And yeah, in anime the only thing to match elven breasts are elven ears. I guess if Tiffania learns to move them, she would be pretty much able to fly by herself, and she's only a halfy :D

Well, Louise doesn't seem to have too many of those traits. Let's name some:
1. Flatchested.
2.... Does it exist? >_>

She's too tall to be "undeveloped".

Now, the younger purple-haired chick offa Lucky Star... that's some serious loli right there. Shorter height, completely innocent and unknowing attitude, etc.

I mean, Louise bondage raped (okay not raped, but definitely some dominatrix crap going on there...) Saito in one of the previous seasons, for fuck's sake. How the hell do you call that undeveloped and cute?! >_>

I mean, according to wikipedia, there's gotta be some innocent factor there; Louise.... isn't all that innocent. >_>

Shana, at first, kinda was.... but it's still not there.

Cute, huh?
