Audio Problems h.264
« on: July 27, 2008, 04:50:02 AM »
I origionally had a problem with the video freezing every couple of seconds (with audio going normally), so I browed the forums to find an answer and as a result I downloaded CCCP, after that every thing seemed to be working fine, until the audio started to skip... a lot.  It seems that I replaced my video problem with an audio one >.<

edit: it seems after playing the video for a bit the skipping stops, but then the audio becomes way out of sync, and possibly the subs (couldn't tell due to my lack of japanese classes :P )

h.264 requires a lot of CPU to decode. If you're using an older PC that might be the reason. More info is needed on this however... Is it an HD encode? what's the resolution on the encode? Install Coreavc and see if that helps.

Coreavc decodes h.264 and uses less resources to do it. We recommend it for older PC's.

Pentium 4s suck. Follow the link in my sig.
Or buy yourself a decent CPU :P

It's an HD release. Definitely your CPU. Like I said it requires a lot of CPU to run it. Look for one that's in h264 but lower resolution. I know it sucks but I recommend upgrading to a modern CPU a dual core or higher. You can get away with a less powerful CPU but you're gonna need it later anyways....

You can get a very nice Intel Core 2 Duo for around 200$. That's not so much of a big deal, isn't it. It was already pointed out that you'll need it anyway in the near future.

all the blabla on this threat isn't help for him yu nuckshuts!! lol
i got a good solution for yu!
deinstall all yur codecs first!
then google the tool mplayer, dl that tool and extrackt that in a folder on yur desktop!

yu dun't need to install it.

then click with the right mouse button on the mkv file and use the option "open with" , search for the mplayer.exe on yur desktop folder and use a hook on always.

if yu dobble klickin on the mkv it will open that file with the mplayer tool now, and press while playing "d" on yur keyborad and "j" and also "f", after that yu should have no problems to play the file without a laggscreen!

Asik, if you are planning to post on a forum, as least have an intelligent post. Please don't flame on the BoxTorrents forums. It's not tolerated. I mean, read your wrinting.

Oook. Where to start.

Let's put aside the obvious fact that you're a total retard with no concept of how to spell, let alone what he's talking about.
To the point:
mplayer is not a tool, it is a media player.
I'd assume it has its own built in codecs if you can play h264 files without external codec packs.
I don't know what you think you're playing, but most people with 'low cpus' can play SD encodes without too much trouble... unless their PC is an utter piece of shit.

... then again, I don't know why I'm explaining this to you, since you're ignorant... and banned.

Just to add in information, mplayer has built in codecs and uses CoreAVC, which is the codec suggested by Psy's sig link. CoreAVC is probably the best codec for h.264 playback at the moment. The actual player itself uses very little CPU/RAM, and it really is just the decoding of the video and audio which takes up all the CPU. If using Psy's suggestion of using CCCP+MPC and substituting CoreAVC doesn't work, I highly doubt mplayer will make any difference.

I'm ALWAYS nice. Well... except when I'm ebil. But I'm only ebil when I'm bored. Although... I'm bored all the time. Not that that's a problem is it? ;)
