Hi.

I used to have AF-F's version of the show (with great translation notes), but I lost it. I plan to re-watch it and I was wondering if the a4e version has similar notes?

I have the a4e version but I never watched the AF-F version so I can't make a comparison.
I don't recall much in the way of notes in the a4e version, but I don't remember any time notes seemed necessary.

According to some, it's not a good transfer/upscale on Funimation's part.

To answer the OP's question: the R1 DVDs themselves don't have TL notes, so I wouldn't expect any of the DVD-rips (NPC, a4e, B-A, A-MX, E-D, etc.) to have them either.

after seeing the very sub par claymore DVD transfers funi did im not really planning on buying any more of their stuff without renting it first.

Not good when my fansubs on the comp look better than the DVD

someone had actually posted the BD R1 comparisons around here a little while back, cant seem to find it now though
