haha I wondered if this thread existed, god I watched it recently and it was just sooo repetitive for me, it was just the same thing over and over again. I mean when I was watching it I was thinking of Shigofumi, similiar kind of situation but atleast in that anime the plot turned away from the whole job aspect and went into it's main characters story.

Whereas in shigo shoujo

I also had the got the 2nd series and it started off exactly the same, nothing new really changed

And in the end, I just decided to put it on hold like many of the animes that tend to have lost my interests (and I'm watching Natsume Yūjin-Chō series; really good)

I would just like to post my thoughts on this series.

I'm getting rather sick of working on it, to be honest. Some of the characters are downright retarded, and others... could be traded for broomsticks/mops and still fulfil their purpose.

Basic run down of any given episode:

Psyren pretty much summed it all.

Also I haven't really noticed it that much with the anime that I've recently been watching but it was very obvious when I was watching Jigoku Shoujo, the amount of replayed scenes continously used was getting annoying, and I thought they didn't do that anymore :/

Damn AniDB rating it over 7.5 D:

Well ........... I'm enjoying the anime because of three things.

1. Enma Ai kicks ... kicks, kicks ass!

2. Revenge!

3. Different story arcs ~ Even if its the same thing or similar events.

Maybe they should have ended it at season 2?

I liked the first two seasons, one of the reasons is that it's different.  Yea, there are many episodes that will piss you off, because of people just failing.  That's human nature.  While it's repetitive, the endings aren't always predictable.  I'm often hoping that the person doesn't go through with the revenge, and when they don't it really stands out.

Started the third season, but dropped it for awhile like most of my anime.  Like already mentioned, I prefer the music from the first two seasons.  Not saying it's bad so far, will probably go back since reading this thread.  But still don't think they really should have made the third season.

btw, Mushishi is awesome.  Darker than Black was so so.  And a favorite, Kino's Journey, is somewhat similar by showing different culture's behavior, yet not harshly judging them.  Oh, maybe that's why I like Jigoku Shoujo.  It's not too preachy about morals, and just showing what people generally do whether you agree or not.

Agreed Mushishi is awesome, Ginko > Enma Zzzz

Also Mushishi has nice background music which is always a bonus for anime, can't just have pretty pictures, you need pretty music also to create a greater atmosphere.

Ah another series I couldn't enjoy. ;/ Kino's Journey. -bows- I find it boring.

I'll give Mushishi a chance, I stopped at episode 4 because it was still airing back then and I didn't have a set of rules on how to watch my anime until later on; I watch only completed series or seasons now.

Thats what I do, with that I haven't seen K-On! yet; the anticipation of the next episode would kill me.

You think you're the only one?! Every episode that comes out it strangles my throat! Gaaah! Hurry up and finish. Tatsujin is becoming impatient ~

Edit -- 2nd season, Ayu or Shinsen-subs? It just feels like Shinsen's exaggeration with all the descriptive words.

Just finished 2nd season and downloading the third season, Ayu's torrents are super fast. Yuuis are super shitting slow. Uber slow. Very annoying and they still haven't released episode 26 because of encoding.

Oh I'm surprised that you managed to get past series 2 after completing the first one, is it what I'm expecting? just like the 1st?

95% of the series involving same scenarios and the last 5% end of the show showing alittle more character background development. If so, I don't know if watching series 3 is worth it D:

Oh my god, are you kidding me? Why do people hate this series so much? I love this series! Enma Ai is just awesome. Every time she appears before the person who she's suppose to give the doll it gives me the shivers. When they pull the red string, and specially ... specially when she takes them on that boat to hell. Man that's awesome. What I like about it is the way she is strict about her job (at a times) hardens her heart and sometimes, enjoys torturing some assholes.

Yes, yes. Repetitive but not exactly the same shit over and over again! Each story has its own unique path. I liked how they mixed things differently between Season 1 and Season 2 tho' there are still some loose holes from the main/sub characters that developed the story further by interacting with Enma Ai, or she actually interacted with them differently. I wonder if they're going to explain the story behind the main characters in season 1. I don't understand how they just appeared in season 2 without a trace of time and past.

But this whole series is all focused on Enma Ai, she's the main character and so I'm happy to enjoy that. I did like season 1 and 2, a lot. I'm watching season 3 now non-stop ... I hope they would make season 4! Season 4 >_< Season 3's animation and colors are much better than Season 2's and 1's.

This is wrong of me saying this, I feel weird and might be blamed to be weird ... I feel like I've met her before the anime was produced, or maybe I read about her. It's just a connection of feelings ... was Jigoku Shoujo history present at all in books or things like that before the anime/manga series?

So am I the only lonely person on Jigoku Shoujo's fan side?

Edit -- BTW, I'm interested in some good series that are around the era when Enma Ai was 7 years old. I'm open for any good recommendations.

If you haven't finished Mushishi yet, that has a similiar kind of setting. Although the focus isn't really on the era. Although at times I'm thinking "Doesn't Ginko(Main character) sometimes look alittle too modern compared to everyone else"

Yea, but it's not evil like Jigoku Shoujo. It's like Kino's Journey ... which I didn't like. I'm sure it's better than Kino. I'll give it a try.

Please tell me how the live action is, as it doesn't look good and I believe it was canceled before it finished shooting. The manga is not great if anyone cares.
