It's not just you, it isn't.
It's because big companies give bands no room to improve, or develop, but instead get them to pump out songs like they are machines. This ultimately drastically lowers music quality, and people just roll with it because they think "It can't be helped."
New generations coming in seem to not give a crap either, even though they are the biggest influence on the industry. This makes them the most able to bring change. The problem is they aren't willing. Capitalism is the culprit; it's not only ruining the world, but our cultures and entertainment as well. A prime example of this is with movies nowadays. Everyone just copies each other and they
