I'm using Gentoo, so I couldn't try another browser... but after reading your post, I went ahead and tried to login on another computer running Windows (and using IE)... and I still cannot login...
I'm pretty sure I now have a scrambled password, sent to a non-working old email, that I cannot access... and I'm bummed... (although, I can selfishly hope that its more of a general problem, soon to be fixed, and not a self-made-scramble problem)
In any case, if there is somehow no way to get access to my old account... I guess I don't mind starting over, and letting my old account expire and get pruned... it does suck to not have the 'made 4 years ago' to it, but eh... I'm sure no one pays attention to that anyway...
It just feels like losing access to an old couple digit slashdot account... (I feel like a big dork using that analogy right now)

I'm having the same problem, just wasn't logged in today, when I put my username and password it just loads up the mainpage again asking to login, cookies are definitely on and working for other sites, password is correct, if I put an incorrect password it still takes me to the page informing me so. I can still log in with internet explorer but the hell if I'll use that, using Firefox 3.0.8

I'm still experiencing the same problem as well.
I'm running IE version 7.0.5730.11.
Have cookies enabled as well, but still no luck.
