Searching appears to be somewhat broken at the moment.

If a search word is set, and then some checkboxes are deselected (example: searching for "gundam" with only the "series" and "movie" checkboxes selected), the checkboxes are being reset and not applied to the search.  (The first two results, in fact, are soundtracks.  Shouldn't having the "soundtrack" box deselected prevent a search from returning soundtracks?).

The same behavior is being displayed for the tag checkboxes.  Deselecting lossless and dual audio checkboxes should prevent returning of search results with those tags.  However, when the search button is pressed, the checkboxes are reset to default (checked) and the search results include those files.

Also, searching seems to be returning inaccurate results for some searches.  A search for "Special A" (with quotes) should return Special A Manga, Special A xVID release, and Special A h.264 release

I have tested and can replicate these issues with the following operating systems/browsers.
Windows XP SP2 - Firefox 3.0.10
Windows XP SP2 - Internet Explorer 7.0.5730.13
Windows Vista Ultimate SP1 - Firefox 3.0.10
Windows Vista Ultimate SP1 - Internet Explorer 7.0.6001.1800
Ubuntu 9.0.4 - Firefox 3.0.10
Mac OSx 10.5 - Safari 3.0.4

The fact that it can be replicated on multiple machines running several different OSs and browsers seems to indicate that the problem is on the site end rather than on my end.  (Yes, I did completely flush the cache on all machines before testing).  However, it is possible that the problem is with my router/internet connection, since all of the test machines use the same hardware there.  I do not believe this is the case, since the only problem is erratic search behavior on a single site.  A hardware fault on the router/cable modem should cause more  significant problems than that.

Oh, and the amorphous plates are wiggling.

cheezgrater, we're aware that the search function is completely naffed up. We're actually in discussion on how to improve it at the moment and hopefully we'll see a fundamental change within the next two years. =D

Also.. For a first post, I've fallen in love! Someone how has read the Wiki! -tackleglomps with tears in his eyes-

Srsly though, what would be the point of me trying to tell you something is broken, if I don't give you enough information to be able to fix it.
I wish I could offer more help in *fixing* the bug rather than just finding it (and I apparently "found" a bug that you already knew about...that's what I get for trying to be helpful), but my experience is all limited to desktop support.

Here's a secret... I rarely read the Wiki. >_>
I just tell people to read it and hope it's actually there.... <_<
But aye, Jarudin has plans to make searching all the moar awesome... Infact, it might have borked cos he's playing. I honestly don't know.

Thankies for pointing it out though, it means Jarudin -has- to work harder and faster before moar people notice. >_>

I used FF3.0.10 and IE7.0.5730.13

edit:

Another issue:
It's right to assume that you get a message when a torrent (you're leeching/seeding) gets swapped, right? Then, could it be that the message system is broken?
Or has it been changed to adding the torrent to the Notify-list? Hmm, but iirc I got a system-message for a torrent I commented on that it was deleted some time ago.

For instance, I was downloading a manga pack and the uploader added some oneshots and swapped the whole thing. But I noticed that only after randomly checking the comments of the torrent.

While browsing, I meet a problem with the black bar where the user info is displeyed. Since Jarudin started to modify the code for the tabs with "Statistics/Filelist/Peerlist/Related", I noticed that the info goes on and off (in between, I like the change that Jarudin made).

Here you see that I'm set on "statistics", and you see my user statistics.

Here I'm in Filelist and my statistics are gone. If I go back to the "statistics" tab, my user info will come back.

I tried to use Opera 9.64, FF 3.0.10 and IE, the problem stays the same. I browsed a lot of torrents, old and new and the problem is the same.

No big deal for me, I guess that it is for a coder ^^

Hmm, are they gone forever when that happens? Stats sometimes disappear in IE8 too, but they reappear when I click it. No big deal, really.

The problem is not that it's there when I press Statistics ^^. It's that it goes off when I'm not on statistics. I dont think that it's the way that Jarudin wanted it.

If it is, I'll just get used to it.

@DaggerLite I'll try that now. It'll take some time. The browser that I use the most is Opera, not IE.

EDIT:4 hours later, my stats didnt appear yet. I dont think that it's related to the browser.

EDIT: eeeh edited my comment get it correct.

Confirming unusual site behavior: General stats in top right corner under banner disappear when a torrent's file list is opened.

Can confirm for the following OS's/browsers:
Windows Vista Ultimate SP1 - Firefox 3.0.10
Windows Vista Ultimate SP1 - Internet Explorer 7.0.6001.1800
Windows Vista Ultimate SP1 - Google Chrome 1.0.154.65
Ubuntu 9.0.4 - Firefox 3.0.10
Windows XP SP2 - Firefox 3.0.10
Mac OSx 10.5 - Safari 3.0.4

Can test if needed on the following browsers
Windows XP SP2 - Internet Explorer 7.0.5730.13
Mac OSx 10.5 - Firefox 3.0.10

Edited: Changed wording from "bug" to "unusual behavior" in case it is not a bug.  Tested on two more os/browser combos.

I know others have already confirmed this but I also have something to add. This is on Windows Vista Ultimate 64bit operating system.
FF v 3.0.10
Opera v 9.64
IE v 7.0.6001.18000
Safari v 3.2.2 (525.28.1)

It does disappear when I clicked on Filelist, Peerlist, or Related but when I either clicked on Statistics for the torrent, or refreshed the page and it went back to the torrent statistics, my user statistics re-appeared and was clickable again.

something is *very wrong* with the comments section for the current offer of Maritan.  Escalating giant text.

http://www.boxtorrents.com/torrent/145377/r/Maritan_Shuuchuu_Doriru_Maritan_Concentration_Drills_Vol._1-2.html

(edit)

*looks sheepishly at all the other posts* guess I might have noticed it's not just me, and not just that page  :-[

I'm using Windows XP service pack 3, IE7.  The comments section font gets bigger with each passing comment until it's ENORMOUS

(edit 051909) whatever font changes or whatever, fixed whatever my problem was.

It's side wide (in Firefox), the main page also has a different standard lettertype it seems.

it's broken in IE8, compatibility mode or not.
in Firefox3.5b4 or Opera9.64, the users names and comment dates are bigger, but nothing seems wrong.
All you have to do is study it out. Just study it out.

True, that was in IE I believe, FF 3.0.10 only shows slightly larger fonts with the (part of the) comments, although I did see a similar progression in size once.

Well, only slightly changes on my part using firefox 3.0.10, but nothing to complain about. I don't have any problems with my stats, the font didn't increased in size either. The only change I notice is the font type, which I guess is not the "Calibri" font anymore. >.> I'll just have to get used to the default one.
