I remember some older soundtrack torrents from January or February where the uploader also went MIA for some time, without anyone getting a full copy. Though the leechers were stuck around 60% in this case. Those were both counted on the main page and showed up when searching for unseeded torrents.
Around the time, Xiong tinkered with the counter, so I didn't want to rule anything out per se.
Unless the counter is only updated sporadically, there's at least a slight terminology mismatch when it shows a different number than the results of http://bakabt.me/browse.php?onlydead=1.

As I told you on IRC, I guess it's more of a (lack of a) feature.
The "Show adult content" setting blocks you from viewing the description of hentai offers and makes the hentai category un-selectable when using the Browse page. That's probably everything it affects. But the offer page doesn't seem to have a way to specify filters, so you can't filter out hentai there – or at least not the same way as on the Browse page, by de-selecting the category.

I noticed that the timezone only apply on torrent pages and not on offer page(might also be on browse page).
for example; level E offer by commie always appears to be offered on 5 April in offer page, but in torrent page it shows the torrent been offered at 00:08AM on 6 April(according to my timezone), and with tokyo timezoneit's 6:08AM on 6 April.
This might be Not-implemented on purpose, so i leave it to you to check.
Also while we are at it i have a suggestion, can we have the elapsed time in offer and browse page instead of today or yesterday.
This would be more convenient to check on new torrents/offers.
