Tetsuwan Birdy Decode S1 + S2
« on: October 16, 2008, 03:31:57 AM »
Just finished this series. Left me speechless. Love the animation, it did lack a bit of coloring but you can't deny how awesome the action was! I'm looking forward to the next season. I'm glad they brought this series back to life. Birdy <33 ~~

There's the 4 OVA episodes from years ago. I'll watch it some other time. I want something new.

I liked this show until the last couple of episodes.
(click to show/hide)
Is the shonen demographic really viewed as that emotionally disconnected?  Or is an issue of producers believing that the target audience will only care about the personal concerns of the character with whom they are supposed to identify?

Yea I hate those too. But I hated them enough to actually drop the hate. I personally don't care anymore as long as the main and side characters are included and not left out or scrapped off like nothing.

Edit -- I forgot to mention, I'm dating Birdy. CC was a bit rough with me in most nights, she wanted it nasty! *evil laughs*

... Well, I just watched it. It was a pretty good show, but I found it kinda disappointing... especially how it didn't seem to explore the gender-bender issue at all. I mean, come on... he's in the bath... as an extremely hot chick... and he doesn't take a peek at all (or doesn't seem to care?). I mean, come on, that's just gay! >=|

That's... INCREDIBLY GAY. It's so gay, I can't see how the fuck he would even be able to like a girl.

...*Cough*

The action was pretty good, though, and the storyline was decent (though it seemed to skip around a lot; I guess that's a staple in most thirteen episode shows, though).

Cute, huh?

Agree, Birdy deserves better attention. I gave her my fullest attention. I was expecting him to say "uh ... *bleeds*" or something. I guess the anime is not implemented to have that "harem" sense, but you could tell the exposure of her skin makes you drool to bite her, so it gets the ecchi part.

Well, I don't know about nosebleeds or "biting", but all I'm really saying is that having absolutely NO response to it is just... uhh... whut?

Cute, huh?

if i recall he reacted once, on the first episodes, and then they never mentioned it again, guess they really didnt want it to turn into ecchi =X

I also just finished both this and the ova, and loved it. It took forever to find Birdy the Mighty though, and the encoding quality was terrible, although the hd encodes of Birdy Decode made up for it =P

I finished this awhile back, but I had watched it after seeing the OVA some time prior. If I were asked which I like better, I can't really pick and choose. They each had their ups and downs, but I enjoyed how Decode really developed the characters.
For those that don't know, I'm a big Gender Bender fanatic. I've watched the very limited anime selection as well as read all the mangas I could find. I like the ones that poke humor at the "holy crap, I have boobs" factor ("I have boobs, let's move on" just doesn't cut it). Decode - actually both Tetsuwan Birdies were a bit of a let down in regards to Gender Bender, however they were nonetheless both great action shows.

It would have to at this point. It's like they left a big [INSERT NEXT SEASON HERE] at the end.

Watching second season now, I left on episode 2 half way. Believe it or not, my sister wanted to watch anime with me ... she saw the first episode and a half, showed her how to play/exist the episodes and when I came back she saw up to episode 5. >_>;; She is going to be 8 in couple of days. I-must-make-her-like-Konata (Lucky Star).

.............. I wonder if I should make her watch School Days. O_O!!!!

I've been trying to get Emina's encode of season one off of TT but none of them seem seeded. Anyone got any tips on where they got it?

*edit* nvm, found a low seeded torrent elsewhere, looks like it's gonna take a little while though.

This is a show I was interested in a few months ago. Maybe I'll pick it up this summer.
