nge is only considered so good because so many people saw it and so many people said it was so amazing. IMO it dont hold up at all.
Another reason it gained so much popularity is the controversy over the ending and the death threats to the author and everything about it.
Which resulted in the movies.

Its not hard to see why it would be overly popular.

I've only seen 1-4 of Ultimate, and I ain't watching another episode before they're all out. FFS, I've forgotten all about the plot when I start to watch the next episode.

My guess is that Hellsing is not Madhouse's main priority.

or because the company has a set group of people who are making it by meticulous standards and taking their time on top of it all coupled with planned slow release for dramatic effect

1-4 were awesome but ep5 was pretty terrible, even the animation was subpar compared to 1-4.
