nge is only considered so good because so many people saw it and so many people said it was so amazing. IMO it dont hold up at all.
Another reason it gained so much popularity is the controversy over the ending and the death threats to the author and everything about it.
Which resulted in the movies.

Its not hard to see why it would be overly popular.

I've only seen 1-4 of Ultimate, and I ain't watching another episode before they're all out. FFS, I've forgotten all about the plot when I start to watch the next episode.

My guess is that Hellsing is not Madhouse's main priority.

or because the company has a set group of people who are making it by meticulous standards and taking their time on top of it all coupled with planned slow release for dramatic effect

1-4 were awesome but ep5 was pretty terrible, even the animation was subpar compared to 1-4.

If l play Xenosaga episode 3 one hour daily l wil lstill finish it before ep 8 comes out ... total waste of funds and time, by the time it will be finished l wil lhave grown up kids l think, slow release for dramatic effect is good but not when it's 6-8 monts period.

Well, the series will still be epic no matter how long it takes to complete. I, for one, will see it through to the last ep and like it.... I'll just keep watching crazy stuff like One Piece to fill the time in between.

"Picaboo street in Timbuktu, Do I need repeat, That a boy named Sue? Rockin' to the beat, Of the kangaroo, Let me kiss your feet, And your forehead too."

I'll assure you that what happens with Alucard is very well done, he does go missing for ages though, volumes 7 and 8 are very heavily focused on Ceras.

well Ceras is generally the main character of this title to me, it doesn't go through Alucards toughts and actions but about her being a vampire now and her struggle, her learning stuff, her becoming the different being, her rejecting the tought she needs to drink blood, Alucard on the other hand is developed, what ever action he makes he tried to teach Ceras that she needs to become stronger, it's why he insisted on her drinking his blood to free herself.

havent read all of the manga cuz by the time it was TLed it took quite a long time so what l'm saying is based on the original anime.

The anime has little to do with the canon plot, mind (amusingly, the trailer contained Millennium references that never appeared in the series at all). Hellsing is all about Alucard though (despite the lame anagram); everything about him is awesome, from his sense of fashion (cravat, riding boots and fedora? Yes!) to his personality (cruel and cunning, yet resolute and consequent). While he comes dangerously close to being an archetypical anti-hero at times, he's nevertheless a great character and a reminder that vampires don't need to be tragic, misunderstood or generally gloomy entities.

l aggree hes cool and all, but he DID turn her into a vampire, you don't leave a creation to do what it wants to cuz it will go astray, he tries to teach her, thats why l said anime is about her.

Yeh he does act like anti-hero, but if it wasn't for the contract wit hHellsing Organisation, l highly doub't he would be saving the world, far as l remember it took a lot of manpower and effort to capture him in the first place. don't mix a duty with a desire.

For I haven't read the manga yet I can only tell what I know from hearsay: Ultimate (6eps+) is the manga and Hellsing (13eps) is "inspired" by the manga. I think the first Ultimate episode is Hellsing.

I knew nothing of the outside world. I was just a frog in a well.

why do you want to watch something taht won't be finished in the next 2 years ?
watch Hellsing, read the manga, you can skip Ultimate or wait till they finish it.

You can find a fansubbed BDrip 720p of episode 6 on Tokyotosho, I'm glad they made the switch, quality is SO much better, though one episode is 1GB+. I wonder if the rest of the episodes will be released as BDs before this series finishes...

would be rather stupid not to, l mean they have a lot of time between releases so if anything to keep ppl waiting in hatred for their slow asses, DB releases saved their asses a lot.

I have watched the series, and for not sticking true to the manga I think they did an awesome job, but yeah now onto this. I noticed that the first 4 they pushed out to get caught up to where the series cuts off and to follow the manga from there. I highly enjoyed the first four, and since have been waiting for the next three to come out and marathon them... This series has caused me a longer wait then anything I've ever forced myself to wait for...
When Cookies become alcoholics the world has issues, oh wait that has already happened!
When I was growing up I wanted to become a queen, now that I did, I have to avoid brats chasing me with bats.
When the charm wears off, what do you have then?
