I am posting this on all The Sky Crawlers torrents pages as well as the forum discussion page. If the mods have a problem with this and want to delete them because of spam, please at least leave the link to "http://reito.3xr-ani.me/2009/06/28/in-defence-of-the-sky-crawlers/".

********Warning: To understand the following post, you must have read the book "The Stranger" and watched the movie "Sky Crawlers" *********
Might I like to add that this movie is one of the most excellent examples of existentialism. Ignore the corporations and the fighting and the violence. These are people who sit around waiting to die, not caring about living their lives at all. They aren't suicidal at all, but they "don't care" about their lives when it comes to the war because it's "their job." The movie borrows heavily from the book called "The Stranger" by the use of alcohol, coffee, sex, and fighting to show how impersonal these pilots are. When normal people drink, they drink to have fun, right? When you drink coffee, you usually want to stay up or remain concentrated, right? When you have sex, you do it for the pleasure and enjoyment of your partner, right? And when you fight, you fight to kill the enemy with emotion and passion, right? The entire movie showed all the characters using alcohol, coffee, sex, and fighting with no emotion attached at all. It's suppose to make you reflect on how can a human live like that? And lastly, The Teacher is used as the so called "Sunlight glinting off the gun", the overwhelming emotion that an existentialist cannot understand or comprehend.
But now I am sleepy.. if you want more of an analysis, just ask.. I've written waaayyy too many papers about existentialism, so I no doubt loved this movie.
