Kimi ga Nozomu Eien [Series]
Tatsujin:
Kimi ga Nozomu Eien ~ Latest Edition
Official
Description: The game is played from the viewpoint of Takayuki with the player controlling his actions. Much of the game's dialogue involves an introspective view of Takayuki's thoughts on what he is feeling and what he thinks the other characters might be thinking or feeling. The original PC version, Dreamcast version, PS2, and DVD versions of the game are played in two chapters, with the first one revolving around the events leading up to August 27 and the second chapter set three years later.
It is in the second chapter that the game allows the player to choose to pursue one of eight girls in the game and also has endings if the player chooses to pursue more than one of the girls at the same time. The original game and the Dreamcast version has 14 endings. Some fans complained that the Manami ending was too disturbing and nightmarish. In this ending, she kidnaps and tortures Takayuki, sodomizing and urinating on him while dressing him in girl's clothing while forcing him to undergo gender reassignment surgeries so he can be closer to his "Mommy" (Manami), reducing him to a child-like state. An additional ending was added for Manami where Takayuki professes his "Pure Love" for her and she becomes pregnant with his child. Two additional "bad" endings were added for Mitsuki in the DVD version. The Dreamcast and PS2 versions had the explicit sex scenes removed.
The Kimi ga Nozomu Eien 〜special FanDisk〜 released on June 25, 2004 contains "Kimi ga Nozomu Daiisshou (君が望む第一章 "The first chapter you desired"), a retelling of the first chapter of the game allowing for greater control over Takayuki's actions in the first chapter. The player is now allowed to prevent the accident or end up with someone else altogether. It also includes a collection of short stories featuring the game's various characters, a game version of True Lies from the Kimi ga Nozomu Eien Drama Theatre vol. 4 Radio Special, the Kiminozo Rajio Shucchouban (君のぞらじお出張版) radio special, a parody of Muv-Luv Extra called Muv-Nozo (マブノゾ) featuring Kimi ga Nozomu Eien's characters and a version of the puzzle game Marii no Okataduke 2: Ayumayu Funtou-hen (マリーのおかたづけ2 あゆまゆ奮闘編).
The game was re-released on March 28, 2008 in a Vista-enhanced edition known as Kimi ga Nozomu Eien 〜Latest Edition〜. In addition to being built on an improved game engine and featuring improved graphics, the re-release also included the story content of the Special FanDisk and an all-new third chapter for selected heroines.

Starting on it. Tried to watch it with English voices and ....... I puked. =( I went back to Japanese voices with English subtitles. This is one of my all-time favorites. I just love watching this series around winter season, before the end of the year usually.
(click to show/hide)I remember watching the first episode, straight into the first 2 minutes of it I fell in love with this anime. The music was smooth, gentle and it sways nicely. And the characters were presented alright, not at the very best. I didn't like how the animation and coloring went, but I couldn't help the way things were. Second episode was pretty damn nice in the beginning, I enjoyed all of it and it was pleasent right up and until Mitzuki acts weird ... I really thought she had something on Takyuki, or maybe she wanted some sort of attention or whatever. But in the end, he did buy her the ring. Then they flip back to Haruka, with the train noise covering an incident, ... I mean ... I wasn't really thinking something very bad is going to happen, and eventually Takyuki got to the area where he was supposed to meet Haruka. At that point, I thought things were going to be alright until then ... the ambulance left, people were gathered around ... and Takyuki claiming accidents are dangerous ... Then, ... my jaw dropped. I was like "no fucking way! is this legal in Japan?!" Lol, yup, I was a newbish anime otaku back then. But the way they kept going after the music theme went on after the accident, and the scenes they showed was so damn deep. I don't want to compare it to other anime series, but this is one of the season that is stuck like an inscripted book in my head.
Anyways. I may end up writing a book on this! But that was the biggest parts I really liked about the beginning of the anime. I still have the middle, and endings! Who else likes this series?
forevr:
Brilliant proper adult drama.
(click to show/hide)He should have stayed with Mitsuki in the end though. Can't see any reason really why he wouldn't.
Nine days till the release of the last part of Next Season then the OVA will be complete as well.
Stsin:
One of the first 'real' anime for me. When I first got *really* hooked onto anime, decided to watch everything in the top ten list and this was at top at the time. The second episode was a complete shocker and the whole series being more dramatic than I could have expected from a 'cartoon'. Affirmed my discovery that anime wasn't just for children. But gawd some of it was depressing. So I haven't rewatched this series in a long time. But I have been curious on the alternate endings, since IMO it ended too cleanly..not enough to satisfy, that is.
edit:
Want to clarify that I think he ended up with the right girl, even though I'm curious about the alternate endings. I was annoyed with him in the first episode, going out with someone he wasn't really fond of at the time. And felt it was abusing her feelings when he didn't feel the same in return.
btw, I started to watch School Days just because of the claimed messed up ending. But just the first couple episodes gave me this similar vibe (why is she trying so hard to get him hooked up when she's obvious in love with him... emotional train wreck coming no doubt), so decided to put it away.

Finish School Days! It is very different than KgNE.
(click to show/hide)
As for KgNE, I finished at episode three. I got the uncensored version! Woot, Mitzuki's nipples are finally show'en. I was drawn very closely to Mitzuki, just as I was the first time I saw the anime. Just to shoot it up, I've re-watched the series within the first month over 7 times, close to 8 times probably. I didn't like Haruka at first, I thought "this whore should just ... PERISH!" and episode 2 dropped my jaw! I was so shocked. Whats more shocking is how the story got sooooo twisted for the past 3 years and how they explained things. I know I'm gonna brag a bit about this, I wish the series had more episodes, at least 23 with an extra episode, or 25 or something. It felt a bit too short. I wanted to learn more about Mitzuki and Haruka and Takayuki, hell even Shinji too! I think Shinji beats them all in the end. Mitzuki's personality and behavior was suprizing to me! She cooks spicy food in the summer, eats it, with a spoon. She gained some weight since she left the swimming team. And do you guys realize something about her? Blue eyes, blue hair, and like an aggressive emotion just like the waves in the ocean. (Beginning of episodes 3-13).
Another thing is how Mitzuki's hair was long, and Haruka's hair was short in the first two episodes and how they swapped hair styles?! Mitzuki decided to cut her hair the next day after she had an affair with Takayuki, as Haruka grows her hair naturally while she's in a comma. Is there no one that have seen this anime? Or at least as oppossed as I am with KgNE? Hehe.

Play the VN, then?
I liked the series, although Ayu and Mayu started to grate on my nerves after awhile...
