Kimi ga Nozomu Eien [Series]
Aneroph:
Havoc, you are certainly blaming Hayase much more than she deserves. Every character is as much to blame for everything that happened as she was.
After watching the first OVA I think I'm dropping the -next season- or whatever it's called. It barely even seems related to the original series. (click to show/hide)I think they just made it for all the Haruka fans because in the first 5 seconds of the first OVA Hayase is booted out of the show. It doesn't even seem to stick with the timeline of the first series (since at the end it showed Haruka writing that picture book and out of the hospital, yet in the OVA she is just getting out of the hospital and Haruka is dating Takayuki again). It's probably just following a different arc of the game, but it's just too disconnected for me.
Havoc10K:
l'm not comparing the personality of the two (Tomoya and Narumi) but the situations they faced :
(click to show/hide)>this is for those that have seen Clannad>>Tomoya loses his wife, l think that is devastating enough, altough Tomoya is stronger at mind and doesn't wish to make a mistake like his father, he entrusted Uchio to Sanae and Akio.<<<
Narumi on the other hand doesn't even want to wake up, l know that losing someone you love like that would crush most of your brain but he did overdo it a bit. Instead of trying hard he totally broke down, what happened afterwards was a given circumstance, when Haruka woke up he somewhat woke up as well and realised how little he knows about Haruka in reality, l was so damn pissed when he made tha treaction to her scar on her chest.
Haruka did seem weak but she was the one that confessed, she didn't look for an amazingly romantic opportunity like others, she actually shouted her feelings, you gotta respect that,
something is bothering me in all those anime stuff, is it really that embarrasing to hold hands in the open ? l never had a problem with that, fucking kids theese days.

A few things here.
1: With the holding hands thing, you have to think about the differences in cultures. In Japan something is silly as calling someone by their first name can be a sign of love and can even be quite embarrassing to them. I thought it was more strange that both (click to show/hide) Hayase and Takayumi said 'Aishiteru' to one another. According to my Japanese teacher, that word (a step above Totemo Daisuki, or a few levels above I love you) is said only at your wedding and on your death bed, so saying those words in such a situation was quite a huge thing.
2: Takayumi's reaction (click to show/hide) to the scar was caused by a few things. First was that he was still feeling that the whole accident was somehow his fault, and seeing the physical harm done to her was quite a slap in the face for him. Also the doctor specifically told him not to mention anything about her accident and having been asleep for so long, so he hid the scar from her on purpose. I think he closed her shirt more because he didn't want to scare Haruka rather than closing it because he didn't want to see it himself.
3: Also about the Clannad comparison (click to show/hide) Was Tomoya really any different than Takayuki? After losing his wife, he abandoned his daughter and basically stopped caring for himself in the same way that Takayuki had done when Haruka went into the coma. Tomoya was brought out of his depression by realizing he was becoming his father, and by realizing that there were more important things like his own daughter to be worrying about, but it took some heavy and forceful intervention from Nagisa's parents to get him to realize this. Takayuki was brought out of his depression by Hayase filling the hole left in his heart by Haruka. When Haruka woke back up he tried to throw Hayase to the side and get back to the way he was before, but he realizes quickly that things will never be the same for him, and instead decides to continue living his life without trying to forget the past three years.

about Tomoya and Takayuki
(click to show/hide)l only say that Tomoya had it harder but his head was functioning better enough to not make his child suffer from his depression like his father did. Takayuki didn't do anything much but he also didn't have longer time of support from others, unlike Tomoya whos friends never really left him alone, not many ppl visited Takayuki after a while and only Hayase cared about him, Tomoya was a dear friend of everyone so he had better support, even his own father tried to help him, tough l never believed his father left him, every time he had a chance to see him was a bliss for his father so basically it just had to work out, Takayuki didn't have much support and his mind wasn't as strong.

About Takayuki and Mitsuki ... Takayuki, in the anime, loves Mitsuki a lot. As much as Mitsuki filled the big hole in his heart, he never thought about her worries ... he never had the thoughts that Mitsuki had the feelings of betraying her best friend and didn't notice that Mitsuki was hurting very deeply inside. When Haruka woke up, he didn't wanna go meet her ... Notice that it was his option (most likely) in the game to go see her or not, as in Next Season he wanted to go see her. In the TV series, he didn't wanna go see her. Mitsuki helped him and pushed him. Takayuki only cared for Haruka's health and he felt responsible for her, so he went to her in most days ... Remember when he was annoyed when Haruka mentioned the oath or promise? About them holding their hands and chanting that prayer, or charm, or poem? He was somewhat annoyed, didn't feel like spending time with her as much. Tho', afterwards ... he begun to remember her from back then, his feelings were revived once again. They didn't push the way he felt about Mitsuki away, he was 1) lost (the fight when Mitsuki was drunk proves it) and 2) trying to resolve it in a manner where he doesn't hurt Haruka nor he hurts Mitsuki, he cared for both because they were best friends (when Mitsuki asked him about moving in together, Takayuki said something like not now, when Haruka realizes whats going on then everything should be fine ... which in reality, he doesn't know the answer. Tho' he does love her, when she went to the balcony he confessed it to her) Takayuki knows Mitsuki better than Haruka (in certain parts) as Haruka knows Mitsuki's other side (note when she slapped Mitsuki in the hospital and after Mitsuki ran away, Haruka admits few things). Takayuki also visited Shinji, and Shinji confirmed with Takayuki about who he really loves, wants to be with and Takayuki said Mitsuki. Shinji asked him about Haruka, Takayuki answered he had no feelings for Haruka. As much as he didn't want to hurt Haruka, even when they kissed, he was somewhat sucked into Haruka and Mitsuki realized that (episode 7-8, when they slept together and Mitsuki slapped Takayuki in bed) ... He was sucked in, but not to the point of leaving Mitsuki. In all, Haruka wasn't in his new heart ... it was in his dead heart, in the past. His present and future were always with Mitsuki.
