You might like it more, though, because it was definitely more romantic than its predecessor. However, I found that the second season suffered from pacing problems as a couple episodes felt rushed. Chiaki and Megumi's relationship does get some development, and it does leave the viewer wanting more for the third season, though, so overall it wasn't bad.

Yeah, it lacked the spice and competition and amount of music from the first season (I even missed the gay timpanist - lol). However I liked the animation better, the orchestras weren't just still images zoomed in and out but actually lively, even when it was noticeably sucky 3d cgi motion -.- With the missing gays around Chiaki it wasn't so silly anymore but still very funny (Nodame's mouseface rocks).
Well for the wanted romantic part I gave up on this anyway (knowing the 1st season I didn't expect anything from the sequel). That story seems to be a really long term story, so the first and second season cannot handle it in that aspect (the pace). I guess season 1-3 must be seen as a whole. Assume the manga is far better in that point, but of course lacks all the music :>
A somewhat real relationship is at least formed now (Chiaki still often behaved unrealistically/unbelievably when it comes to her - weird - but expected... just as in season 1)... took them long enough... 4 years of her affection to be precise.
Looking forward to the 3rd season :3

I might be the only person looking forward to the new 2 live action specials more then the 3rd season.

Maybe. ^^
I tried anime > life action (Death Note, Kimi wa Pet) but it was just such a different feeling to an anime... it was yuck... totally silly and stupid (esp. Kimi wa Pet - dropped it after 5-6 eps) :( Think I can't get myself to like such adaptations... tho the HanaKimi episode I watched was damn funny and I wasn't so much against it. Still silly in a bad way. Maybe I'm too old for that. Anime is like a fantasy world, I don't connect it to the real world. Well... I'm looking forward to any NGE live action ^^
As for Nodame, I hope the future eps will show what happened to the other people too.
Another thing I disliked in the 1st season, it was often too Chiaki focused. Mr. Perfect was too perfect... his fear of flying didn't make up for it.

Hm this one's really hard....I don't really like watching animes that focus mosty on the relationship, cause from what I noticed they become harem-esque animes...-shudder-
But I think the first 2 that came to my mind were Clannad and Karin. Both of which I really enjoyed. Clannad kind of had a harem undertone but it wasn't so prominent that you began hating the other girls in turn for your favorite (at least I didn't). And Karin....well you'd just have to watch it to understand but it's cute hilarious and atypical (to me at least).
