The Greatest Romantic Comedy Anime?
Tatsujin:
just wanted to say you guys rock, because box rocks. ROMANCE FOR THE WIN! And comedy, and action, and sci-fi, and everything else.
Nodame Cantiable could be one of them too. Itazura na Kiss as well.
lStealtherl:
Nodame Cantabile is the best romantic comedy I can think of as well.
Taking a looser stance, Honey & Clover and Bokura ga Ita are two animes worthy of mentioning as well.

Lovely Complex indeed was good. I actually laughed quite a bit.
Does Fumoffu count?
Nodame Counts? Hmm... I'll toss another vote for it.
Suzuka was good back then... idk if comedy counts for it though...
Ouran was funny. Comedy? Yes. Romance... kinda.

But I think the first 2 that came to my mind were Clannad and Karin. Both of which I really enjoyed. Clannad kind of had a harem undertone but it wasn't so prominent that you began hating the other girls in turn for your favorite (at least I didn't). And Karin....well you'd just have to watch it to understand but it's cute hilarious and atypical (to me at least).

What? How do anime that focus on relationships become harem-like? Not only that, but romantic comedies usually don't focus mostly on the relationship(s). Good ones (ones that I like) balance comedy and romance, so the focus isn't on either one specifically.
Also, Clannad does not have "harem undertones." It is a harem, simple as that. As for Karin, I didn't like its romance so much, but to each his own, I guess.
You know, whatever floats your boat.

Nodame Cantabile would probably get my first spot, if I included the second season in my thinking.
I kind of got sick of Chiaki's aerophobia being a major contention, seeing as you can take a boat for relatively the same costs these days - and his relative perfectness disoriented me as well. There were times when I wasn't sure if it was a romantic comedy or a niche slice-of-life, as no relationship was progressing, it was just various people drooling over Chiaki as he tried to ignore them and seek his dreams. Season two however, has been focusing more on the romantic aspect, and I've been enjoying it thoroughly.
Aishiteruze Baby would be my other contender, I enjoyed the warm tingly feeling the series left me with.
