Donation time people.
« on: December 22, 2008, 08:13:08 AM »
It occurred to me about 6 hours ago that box is running free leech this week and have been forced to go without ads.

With advertisers paying less and less due to a global depression, and boxtorrents getting even less cash than a "legit" site this means that though they aren't sharing it they are probably hurting for cash or are running on a small pool they have stored up.  (Besides let's face it, most of us don't see those ad's anyway.)

The internet is moving to donation based systems, and boxtorrents is a great place.  I know that with this time a year people are usually a little strapped for cash, but after this week people usually have a little gift money laying around.  I say we should all throw 5 or 10 dollars up to box to keep the place going strong another year.

Ill start first since I opened my mouth on the issue.  I donated $50 a few hours ago and don't care about upload credit.  The bonus isn't the point.  Give some love back guys, if you can.

Actually finding paypal as a useful service requires an inoperable brain tumor.

Or the lack of a brain.

Or a combination of the two.

( You can tell who's gotten fucked by paypal.   You get shit products - they take a shit on you.   They're such assholes - the way they have it set up, you might not even be able to chargeback. )
Nothing.

next time I run into box I'll just give him some cash out of my wallet, and tell him to go spend it on porn. The gift that keeps on giving  :)

When life gives you lemons, you clone those lemons and make super lemons.

I used to use PayPal for Ebay shopping a few years ago.  I had a couple hundred dollars on my PayPal account, when they decided to deactivate my account due to inactivity since I don't do a lot of shopping.  The money I had on the account disappeared with the account.  I haven't touched PayPal since.  They are thieves.

Don't keep funds in your paypal account and instead hook your account to a bank account. Get your account verified too. Doing this will cause paypal to not lock up your account and you can sue them if they take money out of your bank account without your permission.

Paypal is pretty much the only way (apart from Google Checkout) I can make payment on sites that don't accept international credit cards. I don't have any money in my Paypal account, it's linked to my debit card. And no bad experiences with it yet, though admittedly I don't really shop that often.

I actually prefer to use paypal over my debit card as my debit card is a hassle to use.

You can donate via paypal with just a credit or debit card without making an account.

I know paypal sucks, but that doesn't mean I won't donate.

They closed your account for inactivity when it had money in it? That's cold.

I thought they would mail a cheque to your address after they close the account and take some fee... I don't remember what I read when I read the terms when I first made an account without linking any monetary transfer method to it.
