Before anyone starts making "photoshopped" claims, that image is from an artbook, Gundam Fix, featuring works by Hajime Katoki done in a photorealistic manner (small mention of the artbook on the wikipage). Rest of that artbook here ;)
Note that none of the images are real! (AFAIK)

I read in a blog somewhere that they were attempting a 1x1 scale model of a Gundam, I guess that's it.
I wonder though, is that the original RX-78 Gundam?

Nope, it's not. It's not a photo, just photo-realistic depictions.
It's probably depicting the construction of Amuro's RX-93 Nu in Char's Counterattack.

i like ALL gundam
each series has it's own charm.
although Gundam ZZ is a bit of a kiddy pleaser.
that's about the only Gundam series i could make any comment on, but i still like it good enough.
fav would be Kidou Senshi Gundam
also known as First Gundam or Gundam 0079
it's the very first gundam series, which makes it special in my eyes.

Anyways, I don't think anyone's really touched up on this, but Gundam 00 seems to be for Gundam Wing what Gundam SEED was trying to be for the UC Gundams. At least that's what people on other sites/discussions have been insinuating. Myself, I've never seen UC because of the lower quality of animation and I've gotten through about 4 episodes of SEED before putting it on extended hiatus until I'm bored enough to try again. That said, reading through this forum's sparked an interest in me to hit up UC, especially since so many of you are of the opinion that it trumps SEED (and every other Gundam), regardless of animation.
I'm a real fanboy of Gundam 00, maybe because it's also slightly reminiscent of Code Geass and the good points of Wing, but I hope it ends up with a better ending than Wing did--oh right, the whole "Foundation" idea and the master plan of Aeolia Schenberg is also something straight out of Isaac Asimov, which I had the good fortune of reading before starting 00. [on a side note, if you liked Dune, read Asimov's Foundation series up to the point where he decided to merge his other two series and bank the hell out of what he'd written for decades, effectively mucking up ALL three at once. Damn capitalists.] Also, Gundam 00 seems to focus less on what Gundams look like as opposed to what they're capable of doing, which sucks for eyecandy and modelers, but it gives the story people a lot of things to play with. Instrumentality~ho!

Well UC is a lot of better then Seed, UC has over 300 episodes in there timeline and all of them are connect together really well. Gundam Seed takes most of those ideas together and mixes into 50 episodes If you watch Seed there Newtype are called Corrantars. Seed does have bigger action scenes but it sill good.
A Lot of people think that Wing and 00 are a lot a like but that only with characters not with story or action. Wing is more like Zeta gundam and char counter attack
Also Gundam 00 has nothing that Geass has. Trying to combine those together equal fail.

You two have left me... Did you even watch Zeta? It is the most hated gundam series by its creator.. He killed off lol like 2/3's of the cast.. lolz If 00' was like zeta more the lokon would be dead.. And wing.. Noone in wing dies.. ever lol they live thru every amazeing thing..

Keep watching 00 At the end of the series. I will bet that more then 2/3 of the cast will be killed they already killed about half of them. Did you see the last episode they killed three character at the end of the episode.
Also your wrong about WIng all the doctor died and tres also died. Myelne Parents died alot of character died in WIng.
