D.Gray-man manga
« on: January 01, 2009, 11:14:39 PM »
As stated in the Subject, i would like to request manga.. episo- whatevere their called(>.<) of D.Gray-man 1-latest(if possible). i heard Yuurisan-subs has the manga but... their website is rather complicated. any group will do.

i mainly request this because the series only went to 103... and well... Allen Walker never fought the Millenium Earl and it was said that the manga contains the fight and whatever happens after the anime ended. :(

thank you in advanced. :>

I figured that it would be better to bump an older thread with the same request than to start an entirely new topic -- at least, that has generally been correct etiquette on sites I've frequented in the past.

Anywho, I hereby second the request for a torrent of the D.Gray-Man manga, from the first chapter through as many complete story arcs as possible (possibly up through the most recent volume, or something of the sort?).  I really would like to read the series, but it's difficult and frustrating to download the entire series from start to finish, given its length.

If this is against rules in any way, feel free to take this down and ignore it.  I'm just a simple man requesting some manga, I mean no harm. :)

Well, chapter 187 just got released on onemanga.com  ::)

Though it will change from weekly release to monthly..

Quote
Yay! D.Gray-man 187 is out!! Many thanks to I Eat Manga for the chapter

On some related news though, the series is still pretty much on hiatus as it will not be coming out until early November when it moves over to the Jump SQ magazine and becomes a monthly series. That's right, D.Gray-man will no longer be weekly anymore and it will be about another 2.5 months before we see the next chapter but at least we got this 50 page special for now =D

there a .RAR for 187 ?

also, if anyone it is allowed, i can package most everything up to 186(or w/e arcs there are). most likely mixed translators.

Since now it is known that the torrent contains original files, major hurdle has been crossed. Now as far as the original file names are concerned, this is what i found. Even my source changes the file names( most of the times) so i cannot assure you that these are the original file names( but they do look original to me ).

(click to show/hide)

Our second problem is the choice of groups for some chapters. As you can see in the above list, there are many cases like this. I cannot help you in this matter since i don't read D.Gray-Man, so you all have to decide which groups to allow. Accordingly, a10112 can change his torrent.

Btw, i wanted to ask if the current torrent is upto the latest arc ending. If not, please remove some chapters.

i deemed chapter 180 to be an arc ending... but if you've ever watched the anime, the arcs tend to blend a whole lot. it's kinda like:
(click to show/hide)

i got the manga and files from a friend... according to an undisclosed staff member, it gotta at least match the original file names as to which the packages where released in. problem is: i got 180 files and they're most likely a ton of groups in there since a number of groups dropped d.g-m and/or don't package them.

1) If someone else can confirm that chapter 180 can be considered an arc ending, its an ok from me.

2) I already gave you the file names. What more do you want? Match the file size of chapters from your torrent with my list and find out which group did it.

3) And what are you doing to replace some of your files with a better group's release? Even though i haven't read the manga, i am dead sure that some files need replacement ( for instance Chapter 128 : you can't compare the quality of a 4 MB file ( by MSS ) with a 16 MB file ( by Whatever ) ).

If you want your offer to get accepted, you need to do some work, otherwise you can kiss it goodbye(Copyright owner : psyren :P ) .

Did you try the fserve laplacian in #lurk @ irchighway.net ? It has the official files ( + names ). If you don't know how to use a fserve, see this and this.

As anyone could easily tell, laplacian does NOT have the original file names (using the file list in one of htear's previous posts in spoiler tags as reference). It would be a true miracle if all those groups followed the same naming pattern. For example, Whatever names their files like this (see their bot list):
Quote
DGray-man_Ch153[Whatever].rar
or silvermask & Franky-House like this (see e.g. here):
Quote
DGrayMan_174__silvermask_FH__.zip
and so on and so on. Different groups even don't spell the manga title itself the same way. I also doubt that Timcanpi, Timcampi and Timecanpi are 3 distinct groups.  :P So much for laplacian having original file names. See, laplacian even doesn'seem to have the original files - Whatever releases in RAR, laplacian has them listed as ZIPs (I don't assume he's as stupid as to change all file extensions to .zip).

Hunting for original files AND names would be really hard in this case - so many groups, some are inactive, some removed their releases after DGM became licensed ... Waste of time, in my experienced opinion (having collected hundreds of GB of scanslations through years)  the important thing is to have best possible releases, properly tagged with the group and packed in a way in which it will be easiest to read.

i think i've said on this topic here (or a comment somewhere on my request for D.G-M) that i'm attempting to use subfolders/scanlated images to name the archives. remember, a number of these groups, a: dropped D.G-M, b: died, or c: have D.G-M as a previous project but no longer carry a list of file names/sizes.

I knew some ****** like you would point that out. IIRC( except for the previous comment ), i've always said that laplacian has 99% of the times official files. I myself have dealt this issue with many manga. But the mods/others were always there to help me. And to remind you, i remember saying that laplacian changes the file names ( if you look at some of the earlier comments or the quide ).

As for the reason why i said such a comment was that i know the official names are tough to find. But the ones i found on laplacian are the closest to the original( barring some cases ) and the mods may approve it. But as you pointed out, the original files/names can be found on the scanlator's bot ( for some chapters ).

Also, i've always said that laplacian is your last option if you don't find the official files on scanlator's site/forum/bots( refer to guide ). I was assuming that a10112 had checked all the scanlators site/forum/bots. If he didn't check it, its not my fault.

Btw, instead of arguing with me, why don't you argue with the mods? Psyren will be more than pleased to give you an answer ( if he's around ). All i am trying to do is give a10112 the best advice possible. I don't read shounen but i am still trying my level best to help him. And you've collected hundred's of GB of manga, haven't you? Why don't you help him ? According to you, all my rules( which are the rules set by the admins/mods ) are lame and should be ignored so that the users can upload whatever they like( which may be far from being original files ). Most people who upload manga here follow rules ( Dille, midhras, other recent uploaders ), so you can't say that its difficult to follow them. And i've always said that mods/others are always there to help the uploader if he faces difficulty and if the task is close to impossible, the mods will allow exceptions. But this doesn't give the uploader the right to ignore the rules and be lazy.
