I know you aren't saying the show was the cause, but right there you clearly state that it was involved. It seems as if you are assuming that the girl had in fact even heard of School Days, whereas I have simply never heard any suggestion of that from anyone else. If you have read that somewhere or something, then I would like to see it, because if that is true, I am not aware of it. Otherwise, the point I am trying to make stands, which is that School Days was censored to prevent public discomfort, not because it had caused an act of violence. How could it, when the episode in question had not aired?

It's not unheard of...If a series or film is moving enough it is usually knocked to a certain time frame in most countries to avoid those considered "immature" from viewing it. Anything emotionally disturbing is normally censored during prime-time.

I did indeed hear a short while ago that a 16-year old girl hit her boyfriend over the head with a bat one day in Japan. The authorities searched the house when looking for "agitators" and interviewing the parents/guardians and somehow found out from an organizer or something of what Anime series she was watching and school days was one of them. However, it wasn't the only particularly disturbing series but one of a couple which were known to have suggestive themes of violence.

Even though the ending is the critical part, the build up towards that can easily be seen well in advance. You had the idea that the girl would do something drastic but you weren't sure it would be THAT drastic. What you have to realize is while these series seem retarded and hilarious to us they supposedly reflect Japanese society pretty accurately in terms of interaction among youths in high school. So they can take something like this a lot further and more literally than some of the retarded "high school" films and series that have come out in the U.S. that represent maybe only 10% of high schoolers and only in a particular region. The emotions of School days were all over the place. It starts out all innocent with no real emotion at all, then through a few events it makes you think that the main character is doing the right actions. Then this good action spins madly out of control and spirals into the depths of hell where by the end you are clutching your blanket with one hand and pulling your hair with the other. Going out with Kotonoha would have been fine.  I think at the end, there was real hope.  Makoto seemed to indicate that he might stick with Kotonoha and she seemed happy as well.  It was Makoto's murder that pushed her over the edge.

If only stupid Makoto could've waited a little while longer to get back with Katsura. If he had, she might have gone and killed Sekai, and then since Sekai wouldn't have killed Makoto first, Katsura and Makoto could've ended up on the run together. That would've been the happiest ending I could think of, but it would have relied upon Makoto not being such a complete moron. Actually, that I was I thought was going to happen the whole time, until the second to last episode. When I came to the point that Makoto was getting back with Katsura, I was just thinking "Crap! Crap! No, no! You're ruining her chance to kill Sekai! Whatever you do, don't make her happy yet!" Oh well, at least Sekai got it in the end, and Makoto got it to for being such a dumbass.

and that is every girl who went out of their way to sleep with him.... some of them even had boyfriends to begin with......

remember the one with the loops in her hair who liked his friend.... she only went over hi house to make Makoto go over to see Sekai, she even said she shouldn't have done it, but she did it again before she left, and she did it with him at school...  and if they would have left them alone after Katsura said she was dating him, this might not have gone that route, but then again, Sekai is the main culprit by using her so-called boyfriend training to get what she wanted from him in the first place, she should have just told him she liked him in the beginning, and if she would have just let nature run its course he would have left her anyway because she was so frigged.....

But then it would have just been another crappy show , and i wouldn't have enjoyed it,

I actually don't understand where the feelings came from at the end of the series. Sekai was completely willing to, and even forcing Makoto to try harder with Katsura. Even if she did like him and was using it to have her way with Makoto, she was still more concerned about Katsura's feelings more than her own. Once Makoto starts sleeping with all those other women she begins to seem distraught, but not entirely too much. She ends up making up the story about the baby in order to have him all to herself. When He decides to ditch Sekai and go after all these other women (eventually ending on Katsura) she tries her best to get him back.

So where did these murderous feelings come from? She was willing to share, even push Makoto away in the beginning. Though she seems troubled and even tries to make up a story about being pregnant I see no reason why those feelings would have lead to murder. If she had actually been pregnant and Makoto was ditching her AND a baby then I could totally see the killing intent. I'm reminded of one of the saw movies where

The guy saws off his leg in order to save the wife that he was cheating on. You obviously didn't love her enough not to cheat on her or to stay with your daughter so what the heck is your motivation so saw off your own leg for them?

Why was Katsura the last person Makoto runs to when he leaves Sekai and the supposed baby? Did he really just stop having any feelings for her? Was he afraid of her? Was he afraid that she wouldn't want anything to do with him after what he did to her? Was it the last person he wanted to hurt?

Also, I think Katsura's mental problems consisted mostly of just spacing out, acting as if nothing bad had ever happened, and making a forced reality where everything was happy again. I think this better explains why she went out of character and slept with that random guy at the school festival. She was so hurt that Makoto never showed up (where she had planned on sleeping with him if I remember correctly) that she spaced out and created some sort of reality where the guy she was sleeping with was, in her mind, Makoto. She then completely disregards the random guy the next day as if nothing ever happened.
