^ well it does not count

as water is called "vada" (вода - pronounced vada, and it in all forms is pronounced with "a" not "o") but vodka (водка - pronounced vodka always with "o") is name of strong drink. Well it is called vodka, but can also be called горилка (gorilka), but I have rarely heard it called like that, maybe because of the brand Vodka that is quite popular or maybe because the russians here are just dumb. I bet there is a correct title for the drink in English as well...ha ha ah well there is not, well in latvian we do have a different name for it its called "šņabis" and not vodka, we never call it vodka unless it's the brand of vodka. So in the end - yes it derived form the same word, and it is in the same color and sometimes russians do joke about "v
adjichka" when they talk about vodka, but that's about it. But it might be that real russians pronounce it differently, as the russian here is not the real russian, but fact stays the same - it is not the same thing. Thou It should be pronounced the same just with a different ending. As I said russians here thou they refuses to talk in any other language the russian do not talk correct russian.
v vodka is called vodka and only vodka there where you live
