not what i meant, wise guy. i mean that just by using a computer, a computer geek can accurately map out a computer's specs. even if he doesn't do what you just pointed out.
actually one touch of the mouse should be sufficient for a true geek.

When you've made deals with your computer.
"C'mon. Just run MBAM, and I'll buy you something."

When you are shocked to find out that there are people who don't know the difference between a bit,a byte, a kilobyte, a megabyte,etc.

When you have 5 new computers you're browsing, on your bookmarks list. Even when you're probably not going to get any of them (anytime soon.)

When people come to you instead of asking anyone else for help. Especially with Adware/Malware/Spyware.

yesterday, i officially became a computer geek.

i was working on our perspective plate drawing when i suddenly had the urge to hit "save as"...

SCENARIO:
**works on plate**
"damn, maybe i should save first before moving on"
**looks around for save as**
"what the fuck am i doing...."
**goes back to drawing**

epic fail, good thing i didn't ask my seatmate where it is.

Haha yep. I can't tell you how many times I've had the urge to hit CTRL/Command-Z during drawing class.

"Bah, that line looks terrible... show probably redraw it. Alright, und-"

"Oh, wait."

010 sat down in the car today

020 put key in ignition
021 did not invoke subroutine {ignite car}

030 dropped right hand down to locate mouse

040 realized
041 desktop wallpaper not recognized
042 desktop icons missing

050 initiate [archive] backup subroutine {ignite car}
I win, once again, in my never-ending struggle against victory.

You give your 'girls' themed names: Violet (Desktop); Lavender (Laptop); Amethyst (PDA); Iris (iPod)
Update: Because I've recently purchased a PS3, I have a new name to add to the list: Phlox. Also, Lavender is (quite literally) in pieces, so the name has been phased over to my netbook (which was an unnecessarily painful endeavor as you might guess...).

When every room in your house has a computer, and sometime 3. And you have a closet full of old CRTs.

you learn that you are tying your shoes incorrectly from the internet.

http://www.fieggen.com/shoelace/ianknot.htm <--- seems to be the best method, can be done incorrectly. Will learn that next week or sometime. Don't often use shoes I need to tie a knot on.

I've always done it like in the first vid.

So how have you been doing it so far?

So how have you been doing it so far?

I've always been doing it wrong. It always irritated me how the knot would line up like that.
