Just wanted to say, I tested Windows 7 over the weekend at my uncles and I fell in love with it. They're getting couple of copies to their stores since they have business with Microsoft (or something). No more quick launch, rather the board itself is an actual quick launch. Folders can be combined from other directories and other HDD's into one (freaking sweet as hell), rotating background images from the OS, not some freaking third party program, each folder REMEMBERS its own set up, unlike Vistas super shitty set up that can never be customized; Windows XP Pro excels in this area over Vista, loads a lot faster when you start it and shuts down just as fast ... what else did I miss? I only played around with it for an hour or so.

Sounds like you had a blast playing on it lol.

I don't think I'm going to touch windows 7 until I get a new computer or have a friend let me mess with theirs lol. So far I hear windows 7 is what vista was suppose to be like. Either way I can't wait to try it out.
It's better than Vista. I got Vista with the new computer because I was getting irritated with the stability of Windows XP Pro and it's other 31251 problems. Vista = no problems. It hogs my memory tho', and the retarded folder choices and other smaller things I can deal with until Windows 7 gets released. It's faster of loading programs than Pro, but 7 beats Vista ... same with shutting down or restarting computer. I'm sure Windows 7 is more stable than Vista tho' I had no problems with Vista's stability. Right now, I've been running it without a single restart for more than a month and a half.

Vista I have problem with compatibility that is pretty much it. I'm still running XP because it works fine for me and I don't really deal with any problems, but the fact of long reformatting lol. Other then that I would rather go for vista any day then XP. Hope windows 7 releases soon and hope I can get a new computer.

Holy O.O $320.00?! I'm second thinking window 7 now. That price is deadly for me =[. Hopefully getting a new computer would make getting windows 7 a lot cheaper o.o

I got mine for free. ;)

I strongly suggest that you preorder/buy Windows 7 Pro because it's cheaper and the additional features in the Ultimate version isn't really worth the extra cash.

I kinda want the ultimate for the additional languages. I'm gonna speak to my uncle and see if we can split the price 50-50.

You know... If you do buy a computer after October 22nd (Though you might have a 50-50 chance for this...), you can just buy the crappiest edition of Windows 7 pre-loaded on a machine and then 'upgrade' it to Windows 7 Ultimate or whatnot. Hint, look at people over at MDL.

Though the method above for obtaining Windows 7 is for people who really need a new computer and a new OS.

And I wonder why people would pay for/pirate TEH BEST VERSION EVAR but never use the extra features.
All you have to do is study it out. Just study it out.

I'm actually purchasing a real copy for one simple reason; knowing that it's not pirated so everything is legit and above all the data will be working, not "hmm ... it should work!!!11!1".

I already had enough bad experiences with pirated XP Pros until I bought a legit version which lasted me a good while (XP Pro still had problems) then I just decided to purchase the operating systems rather than pirating them. Less headache and saves me time.

I will admit I hate pirating OSs since you never really know if your going to get a stable disc, only time I did it was for XP Pro, after a couple tries I ended up finding out my friend had ISOed his and I had him shoot me it over P2P, which was a very helpful stint. So I will have to agree with you on that one, pirating an OS really isn't worth the hassle of going I hope it works, I hope it works, dammit next. Though I have thought about it with Windows 7, I still don't want to go threw the hassle, not to mention I don't have my own key like I did for XP Pro, only reason I was trying to get a disc was since I found my old key for Pro.

I've gone through enough shit to realize that pirating an OS is just plain painful. Once you get it to work, hooray. But before that... it's like being a linux guy and reprogramming half the god damn thing to make it work. That's how painful it feels. Great rewards, crappy loops that you gotta jump though.

I wonder if Win 7 will have key issues in October.
This is your home now. So take advantage of everything here, except me.

Actually, you could just buy vista ultimate for by a certain date and get the free upgrade to 7. Hell of a lot cheaper.

But then you wouldn't be able to re-format as many times as you'd like, right?

And agreed with all of you, many pirated OS's are just bad, the only reason why I went went with Vista Ultimate for a while was because a guy I know was able to lend me a version, and Win7 because I used the RC1. When I get win7 it'll be a working one for when I get a new laptop...

Only thing stopping me from switching to Win 7 RC right now is I'm a bit iffy on my RAID card drivers for 64 bit Win 7. I also ran into some issues with MPC, but that was fixed when I stopped trying to use 64 bit codecs.

I can live with Vista Ultimate for awhile until I see some tested and proven Win 7 drivers for my RAID card. Other than that, I've had 0 issues on my other PCs with Win 7.

I don't pirate OSes either, at least I know it'll work if I buy it. I'll definitely be purchasing a full version of whichever one I get for reformatting and other purposes.
