If I get Win 7 I will be going 64bit, it in my opinion isn't worth it for me to get an x86 version since this computer isn't going to be able to run it anyway.

Japanese versions of 7 get Microsoft endorsed OS-tan

Feito-chan!  :D

Finally! A use for Ultimate's multi languages! I predict mass importation of Japanese versions of 7.

OEMs will be:

110 for Home
140 for Pro
190 for Ultimate

Not too bad, huh? I'm getting Ultimate. Those are with full installations. The upgrades will cost a bit less.

US $? Yuck. The professional says it doesn't have multi language pack, does that means you cant change the Unicode or type other languages right?. Cause I have the RtM ultimate version atm but I am going to have to change to the free profession version I have and don't wanna lose those features as I will be DL/buying more VN and using Japanese for classes.

Ultimate gives you language packs that translate the entire OS into another language. Those have nothing to do with most people's definition of "language support".

Unicode support is standard on every NT Windows.

Support for non-Unicode(I fucking hate code pages) programs is also standard feature.

and IME is basic functionality...

Thanks, that's reassuring. I or anyone in my family have never bought an OS and I didn't want to start now

I got my version of Win 7 (64 bit Ultimate) from a friend on Wednesday. I upgraded from my Vista (64 bit Ultimate as well) and I can say that I definitely love it. It different from Vista but I do enjoy it actually. I am still finding my way around all the new stuffs but all in all I say its pretty good. It also freed up a reasonable amount of HDD space so all smiles here. ;D

As for x86 version... I might get it when I overhaul my computer next but at the moment I see no problems with my 64 so. I am however interested in that Japanese version and may look into it a bit more. ;)

One good thing about 7 is that unlike vista which is a clusterfuck of language locking, Windows 7 (At least the RC) allowed you to toy with any one of the 30 or so available languages.

Win 7 64 bit was good. Though drivers took me a while to find on my laptop. Desktops should have no issues.
This is your home now. So take advantage of everything here, except me.

Windows 7 Ultimate, 7600 build.
1 GB RAM & AMD Turion(tm) 65 Mobile Technology ML-34 1,80 GHz.

My system was kind of slow, and I haven't defragted it yet but regardless I've dedicated my old iPod Shuffle to use Ready Boost to, well, boost my system.

The iPod is 492 MB and I've set it to dedicate the entire iPod. Would it help to have another USB to boost my system? Would it help or be pointless?

The only programs I've installed so far are CCCP, Mozilla Firefox, Java, ûTorrent, mIRC, VLC & 7-zip.

EDIT: I was thinking about just installing XP again, though Firefox has this weird habit of crashing every now and then on XP, but it doesn't happen on Win7.

I would have to disagree with you Takeshi, I run FF for days on end and never have it crash. So unless you found some special worm hole in it I don't know about that.

Both 32 and 64-bit versions will be in the standard retail packages, I hear.
