FF VII [Series] + FF XIII + FF XIII-2 + FF XIII-3 + FF XV

xShadow:
After watching a bit more, I realized it was just like the game before it, except that it has slightly less delay for switching. I didn't play FF13 myself, but I watched one of my roommates play it quite a bit.

Overall, I think the FF games really have outdated mechanics. Seems to me like they're just living off of their reputation. I mean, they just now finally switched to battles that weren't completely random. How long did that take?

Had way more fun with the Kingdom Hearts series than I ever will with FF. IMO if they just switched over to KH's battle system and gameplay, it would make the gameplay portion far better.

Havoc10K:
Random encounters was what made the game, or at least one of the better elements.

IMHO after FF7 the FF series dropped gameplay quality for cute cookies. I can understand improving graphics but only if it doesn't come at the cost of real FF gameplay. What is being sold now is not an FF game, it only has it's name.

Still waiting for some new FF Tactics game I could play.

SeventyX7:
I don't know how you can say the series got worse after 7, given how 10 and especially 9 were better.

People tend to see FF7 through nostalgia glasses.  I dare you to try playing it now, a lot of the elements just don't work anymore.

I'm totally with you on FFtactics, though.  They keep making those Tactics "advance" games with terrible story.  I want to return to the gritty world of Delita and Ramza again, not this cartoonish world where nobody ever dies.

Havoc10K:
Actually I keep playing FF7 every now and again. Already started my 21st playthrough :)

I just blew up Sector 8 Reactor :)

But yeah, Although I liked FF Tactics Advance story and characters, I missed the various mechanics from the original FFT.

Also the ending of FFT is 90 times better than most FF games had, all thanks to the brilliant story and music. Uematsu FTW!

I wouldn't mind another FFT game provided I could play it, so PC or PS2. Although if things go on like this, in around 5-7 years we will be able to play PS3 games on emulators at this rate, PC power increases rapidly.

xShadow:
I don't really care for FF games just because of random battles.

As for what you just said though: the question is who would actually code these emulators? You realize that the PS2 emulator is STILL in development, and a decent amount of years down the line, yet doesn't play games perfectly?

It's not just a matter of hardware: I don't think anyone's going to invest the time into trying to make an emulator for the damn thing.
