It takes itself way too seriously to be particularly dark. Entertainment is much more disturbing when abject suffering can elicit the occasional chuckle.

It's such a deeply philosophical show, though. That's kind of my main point. And, I think the ending was perfect for the story, and got the point across.

Eh, something like NGE had philosophical themes without summoning Marilyn Manson forth.
Pino is adorable though.
