What books would make great anime. (manga not included)

zurukitsune:
What about the Twilight series? (note: this is sarcasm. there are already enough vampire love stories in anime)

zurukitsune:
I personally dont like them, but i think Harry Potter would make a pretty popular anime.

Sakura90:
It's not a book, but I'd like to see Bioshock made into an anime. But not exactly like the game. It would be nice if they turn it into a drama story told through the eyes of a little sister and add a bit of romance in it. Shoujo Ai between little sisters would be perfect. And when they are very close to each other, one of them is taken away by a big daddy or something like that and she can't see her friend anymore. And so the other little sister starts the lonely journey thought the city of Rapture searching for her dear friend.

If I remember correctly, when they took the girls for using them to collect Adam they modified their brains or something similar. So when she finally finds her friend, she will not recognize her. Then she will have to find a way to recover the little sister from the big daddy and bring her back her original state. Will she be able to do that and tell her friend that she loves her?

Well, that's the kind of story I like ;D

PS: I don't know much English. Sorry if there are some mistakes :)

I agree. Wholeheartedly. I think that Romeo and Juliet is a little played to really work without being obvious, but Hamlet's length and complexity puts off enough people (its about 4 hours on stage) that I think it could be turned into and excellent OVA without too many people crying, "SEEN IT."

As for me, I'm surprised there aren't more adaptations of Alexander Dumas' works. Theres Gankutsuou, but thats a fairly loose adaptation. I think a hard adaptation of The Count of Monte Cristo would be pretty good, the same manipulative and vengeful sense of Geass, really.

I forgot about Neverwhere.  Damn, that book needs a full blown production, the old British series just didn't do it.  Just make sure it has a really good dub.
