Great... now the dutchies are propagating censorship of the Internet too... This just hit the news today on the alleged court-session of the dutch anti-piracy bureau Brein (whos site remains offline to this day) against TPB.
http://www.earthtimes.org/articles/show/279640,the-pirate-bay-should-stop-activities-in-netherlands-court-rules.html
The article says 'stop activities' (which TPB doesn't have in the Netherlands), while the dutch article claims the ruling was to push TPB to ban all dutch users from their tracker and website.
From the dutch article:
--- Quote ---For every day the defendants do not adhere to the ruling, they will face a penalty of 30.000 euro per day, to a maximum of 3 million euro's.
--- End quote ---
The lawyers also state that the owners of the site make massive amounts of money with their activities. Anyone recall this tidbit? http://torrentfreak.com/g-defense-090218/
--- Quote ---“If I have all this money they claim, someone has apparently stolen it from me,” Peter Sunde twittered in a reponse.
--- End quote ---
An appeal to a higher court was filed immediately after the court-session.

Stichting brein is nothing more but a maffia corporation within the netherlands though. by a figure of speaking ofcourse.
FTD, the newsgroup dutch thing is already sueing them. If the torrent sites would actually step out and sue companies like that, they will be epicly destroyed.
Stichting brein has been caught getting personal user information from internet providers like kpn, wich is against the dutch law in everyway. As companies like KPN are not allowed to give away user information if the user has not been informed or signed for it. Privacy law is rather strict.
