Multiple utorrent instances

Duki3003:
O.O what a necro...
It should work with all versions of uTorrent (maybe not with beta)

You just need to follow brc123 guide and add /NOINSTALL to the shortcut as well

"d:\uTorrent\uTorrent.exe" /RECOVER /NOINSTALL

zopilote:
Thank you a million Duki3003, it works like a charm, I had before uTorrent 1.6.2 and Vuze 3.2 working together, but now, i have 2 uTorrents from differents versions, I don't know if it is possible with others clients, but I'm happy that it is possible to run multiples instances of uTorrent without any problem.

muthafucka:
ok this
--- Quote ---Step 2: copy utorrent.exe and all of the files from %appdata%\utorrent into each of the folders
Step 3: create shortcuts to each of the utorrent.exe files with /RECOVER on the command like this: "E:\uTorrent\boxtorrents\uTorrent.exe /RECOVER"
--- End quote ---
sounds gibberish to me :(

So I have my normal utorrrent running. Now I downloaded the other version I need, in a different folder (different drive to be safe too). Do I copy the files in C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\Application Data\uTorrent into the new folder? what the bloody hell is recover and noinstall? do i run this through command prompt?  ???

Duki3003:
YES... copy those files to a new folder e.g e:\Program Files\uTorrent

It's not gibberish, that's how it works, you don't need to run it in CMD prompt, just edit the shortcut path (click properties) so it looks like this

"e:\Program Files\uTorrent\uTorrent.exe" /RECOVER /NOINSTALL

muthafucka:
got it :)
