Sorry to bump this thread, but I wanted to know if there is any difference between the TV broadcast version and DVD versions. I'm wondering if there may be some cut material reinserted in the DVD.

Also, any news on a blu-ray release?

I'm unsure about the second season. I don't understand why the promos are focusing on some little brat. I'll be really pissed if they try and force this show down to the level of most of the crap currently airing. Keep the little kids out of this show, please.

BDs will be out September 30. The new series will most likely have BDs too.

I hope the new season is not as confusing as the first season. I didn't like the 2 episode rotation per story. I honestly didn't like how the episodes didn't have a strong attachement to the older one (as you progress watching it). First season was a boring series unless if someone can change my mind. Heh. =/ Tho', I did like the character development between each other. That was interesting.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who thinks the first season is kind of dull + pretty confusing:

(click to show/hide)

Sometimes I feel like I'm watching a couple of WOW geeks talking their language, that's how much I get from this anime at the moment. And really? 2 episode rotation? It doesn't have a red line? I kind of dislike those animes which don't have a story which connects all the way through.

Honestly, the only thing that keeps me going is BONES and their reputation. Plus the fact that it seemed like an interesting anime.

Huh, I really didn't think it was all that confusing. There was a lot of talking heads, and the story arcs (at least at the beginning) could've stood alone, but I think the best part was the character development, which in a way linked the whole thing together. I think rewatching it really helped me understand the story better, it all kinda makes sense once you've had a while to process it.

Can't say I recall this show being the least bit confusing. While much of the show had fairly self contained arcs, I always felt it was working towards something. Character development was also pretty decent.

If you don't like it, you don't like it. Not much one can do about it.

Since the second season started airing, I decided to finally watch this. And I got quite a pleasant surprise. While not a perfect show, being pretty silly at times, and rampant with plot holes, it was thoroughly entertaining - and that's what matters the most. I liked the fact that while it was at times full of drama and people dying, it was always a pretty shallow drama - more of a stylistic device, rather then something that tried to seriously affect your emotions. While you can tie good drama with action successfully(see Black Lagoon for proof), I felt that trying to be deeper would only hurt this series.
The ending wasn't that bad, but I only write that knowing that the second season is airing. Sure it was silly, but fitting for the show.
Also, Kirihara is hot.(well, most of the female characters were really nice, but she was my favorite)

+1! She's a total babe and my favorite as well. Can't wait for her appearance in season 2.

don't like her, never have done. think she more or less sucks as a police cheif (Or whatever rank she is) and if i was Hei i would be incapable of taking her seriously.

Yeah, I never really liked her either.

Much more a fan of Yin, Amber, Mai, and Kiko.

(Of course, coming from a loli loving pervert like myself, that isn't really saying much...)

I'd probably classify as a "loli pervert"(Kirihara's boobs were entirely too big, if you ask me) as well, but still, she was the most consistently developed character in the show, and one of the few that had something akin to real personality. She wasn't as cute(well, to me she was, but you know what I mean) or cool as other characters, but I found her most realistic - and in this case it was for the better. Amber was cute, but had not nearly enough screen time, same with Yin(who, btw, was the reason I started watching the show), and Kiko was pretty much a comic relief character.
My other favorite character was Shihoko, at least the younger, short haired appearance.
