FINALLY! Finally I can start Operation "Tears". At last the final episode of memories has been released in 1080p by Thora. Finally I can rewatch both series!

What's the quality like?  Worth using bandwidth on vs the 720?
It depends on your monitor. I download any 1080p and see if they're better than the 720p, in most cases I end up archiving it and deleting the 720p versions.

27inc LED and 2560x1440.  Bandwidth is a huge issue, I only get around 100gb

Brought myself to start watching this.
I just have to get it out...
I just finished episode 4 of Ef - A Tale of Memories and... it's depressing. So depressing.
Depressing.
Quite depressing.
I feel like it's only going to get more depressing.
So much more depressing that I'll want to jump off a bridge.
I knew it was a bad idea to watch it but I had to have a good depressing romance anime for my new amv I'm making  :-X
Why is it so depressing?

Melodies is more depressing than Memories. Memories tells you the story of its main characters, and slowly sets up the story and introduces minor characters who later become the main characters in Melodies. I liked Memories, but Melodies was like a smite deep in my heart for months.

How sad is Melodies? Give me a full summary and ending in spoiler please... I don't really mind because I'd rather that then wanting to kill myself hmm.

Lets just say, the first half of Melodies is sort of twists and hints, second half is full of painful memories and unbelievable events -- basically, it's not for the weak heart. I don't like spoiling stuff. I'd rather have you enjoy it and in honesty this is one of those series you really don't wanna be spoiled on.

Oh, and the main characters in Memories become minor characters in Melodies. Keep a close watch on the timeline in most events. They tend to flop back and forth between present and the past. Read the first post of this thread if you haven't. :)

I totally need to watch this still, I've got it downloaded, so inc for some serious drama ;D (for some reason I love these kind of anime)

Beh. I have a soft spot for romance and girls.
This is why I'm not watching Melodies without my friends... going to gather a group of friends to come watch Melodies :x
That way I'll be able to discuss it with them all and calm down a bit.

Damn, you don't find guys crying on most movies, unless it's a tear jerking anime :)

Both series have a giant fanbase which alone tells you you should watch it, you just simply know it has a lot of fans, and that is all you need to know in order to watch it.

Melodies made me a crybaby, and have to admit that doesn't happen often.
All those tears were wort the HD watch though.

Melodies made me sad for long time.  I loved Chihiro!

best way to describe it, it has no happy ending :D
or does it ?
decide on your own, btw, the more you stall it, the heavier it will be :)
so WE profit from your despair :D
