Apple releases new... everything
iindigo:
Well it's your choice entirely if you want to believe me or not, but the terminal is indeed a factor in the equation. I have at least three terminal windows open at any given time doing one thing or another, whether it be retrieving the latest revision of a program from an SVN repository, backing stuff up with rsync, or something as simple as FTP (yes, I prefer the included commandline FTP program to a GUI client).
And what specifically are you talking about as far as customization? If it's themes, you can just as easily theme the system as you could any Windows box. The Dock is totally changeable too and has hundreds of user-made themes to choose from. The level of customizability is quite reasonable if you ask me. It's just as much as Windows.
Now if you're looking for something along the lines of KDE where many toolbars have more buttons than most people have hair, forget it. Apple is wanting to attract customers, not scare them away.

This, I agree on wholeheartedly. I believe Mac is superior and worthwhile for these purposes: Web design, Marketing firms and those needing a good innovative look to WOW their customers and business partners.

you can get software that functions nearly identically for both windows and mac and have a much wider selection of products within certain areas for most of the things youve stated
Not to say mac isnt better or worse then PCs can be at the same functions

Anything you can do on a Mac you can do on Windows. You can also do the same tasks on Linux. Its a matter of personal preference and experience.

Repeat after me...
"All BASIC things a mac can do, windows can do."
"All BASIC things windows can do, Mac can do."
Seriously don't fuck it up. A corporation is not going to be happy if all macs are not compatible with their software and they have to buy more stuff to dual boot. A nit picky person is going to flip out when he/she realizes he/she cannot scroll with two fingers, change pages with a swipe etc.
