I stole this from friend. I transferred my shaman to other realm and my old name was taken so I took my friends characters name, which also was Hovinarri, much to his annoyance. ;D
'Tis Finnish word for 'Jester'.

Indifference is one of my favorite Pearl Jam songs... Acting like something doesn't bother you when it really tears you up inside. I feel it goes along well with my favorite anime, Evangelion.

Every time I've seen/watched them live, the amount of crowd participation always gives me chills. I like how he lets the crowd sing songs. If you listen to crowd recorded bootlegs, there are many times they are louder then him. Being able to pack a huge venue and make it feel like a small club show is something I've never experienced besides at their shows.

Mine's derived from "Sylvos Windrunner". It is used as a random name for a Blood Mage hero class in Warcraft III: The Frozen Throne.

Ixarku is a character in one of the many half-started / half-finished stories I've worked on over the years... more importantly, it's an original name that I've never ever seen used anywhere else on teh interwebz so it's entirely mine.
It took an hour to write; I figured it'd take an hour to read.

Mine was named after the main pilot from Gundam X, only to realise the official katakana is "garodo", not garudo

This is the nickname that won't die. I came up with it when registering my GameFAQs account (which I still use, it will be nine years old on March 26th). As it happens, Digimon was on TV at the time, and I took a liking to Lillymon, so that was the nickname I took. I then used it at various other places, and it's stuck. I've attempted to declare it 'deprecated' at least once in the past and stop using it for new accounts, but too many people know me as Lillymon now. It also lives on in my email address (not putting that here, for fear of more spam) and AIM nickname (Lillymon444).

I also have a few others that I use or have used.

Yuramon (deprecated): Yuramon is used for my shared GameSpot/GameFAQs account and Yuramon4 (4 has become my standard number to use after getting frustrated at all my AIM picks being taken, and just putting 4s in until it worked) used to be my YouTube channel until it became AmysFantasies. Yuramon is of course another Digimon that can digivolve into Lillymon eventually.

Shiva (deprecated): One day I was in the #bobandgeorge IRC channel, and we were discussing Square's habit of picking names out of a hat when it comes to Final Fantasy summons. I spontaneously changed my nickname to Shiva, and it became my first alt. I soon stopped like it though, and it never spread much beyond its point of origin. It's now only used for my long-dormant Bob and George and EmuXHaven forum accounts.

Rhapsody: The first alt to still live, and a favourite of mine. This is now my first choice for most new account, and my alternate nickname on all IRC networks I frequent. Strangely enough, this is not derived from the sources many people think, but hit me while browsing Wikipedia and finding the Rhapsody operating system (a NeXTSTEP-derived predecessor to Mac OS X Server and Mac OS X in general).

Serenity: Slowly coming into favour on some blogs, this is another alt. Again, the origins of this nickname are far from obvious. The most obvious choice is the movie which would make total sense given my tastes in fiction, but I've actually never seen Firefly or Serenity. In fact I'm ashamed to admit that it comes from the wretched 4Kids dub of Yu-Gi-Oh. It ended up being on at the right time for me to watch, and I liked the name.

Epsilon: This is even more rarely used than Serenity, though I'll probably use it more in the future. The origins of this nickname are a secret...

High plain. There was a reason for it, once upon a time, but I've forgotten by now. Just as much of a reason for this one as for the last one. Basically, it sounded nice.

Starvengers was the first anime I ever watched without knowing much about it and I prolly watched the VHS compliation movie about 1000x as a kid. Later on after searching for it on the internet I found out about it being Getter Robo and all it's reincarnations and I had never  been so psyched about something animated in my entire life. So the greatest super robot ever created plus a random name I chose for gaming and bam. Getter-Kaliko

Well, I guess my forum name kinda counts as a nickname... I go by it in real life too though, but only because my name is Tiffania and it's easier to say Tiff/Tiffy/Tiffany. Usually I just get called Duchess though cause part of my name is Erzherzogin which means Archduchess. I'm kinda technically nobility, so I am actually a duchess, but... my friends call me that more of as a joke to make fun of me more than anything.

Out of fictional names, I guess I like the name Baphomet because it's atbash cipher (taf mem vav pe bet) for Sophia (alef yud pe vav shin), which in Greek means Wisdom. But, it was also a goddess supposedly the "bride of God." I think that's neat, because my name actually means "the embodiment of god."

I guess the only other names I like besides that are the four Queens of Hell, which are: Lilith, Eisheth Zenunim, Naamah, and Agrat bat Mahlat; the four angels of prostitution. Supposedly the brides of Samael, who was the Angel of Death. I always thought that was neat. :D

There was a lot of neat history behind all that too, like maybe they were all just different aspects of Lilith, who was supposedly created at the same time as Samael, since they were originally one single androgynous being. Well, there's a lot of really cool stuff about those two. But this post will get really long if I get into Blind Dragons and Leviathan and the Crown Princes of Hell and all that stuff.  :D

I guess I never really got any "cool" nicknames...  :-\

I kinda figured out this nickname while creating a character for a game called Phantasy Star Online while trying to get a good color (depending on color different rare items drop) for my character. Kinda stuck to it when my friend liked it and encouraged me to keep using it. Ended up using it everywhere :P
So far I've encountered 2 places where this nick has been used. Youtube and hotmail. :< Those 2 are not me!

Oh! Sometimes I actually use Silnay as nick instead. But this rarely occurs.

After starting to watch anime I figured that I need some anime-sque nickname. After thinking a bit I picked a common Japanese name, but more importantly, the name of my favourite mangaka.
Years passed, and most members of my local anime community still call me like this in real life :D
Ring around the roses, pocket full of posies, ashes, ashes, we all fall down.
