This is the nickname that won't die. I came up with it when registering my GameFAQs account (which I still use, it will be nine years old on March 26th). As it happens, Digimon was on TV at the time, and I took a liking to Lillymon, so that was the nickname I took. I then used it at various other places, and it's stuck. I've attempted to declare it 'deprecated' at least once in the past and stop using it for new accounts, but too many people know me as Lillymon now. It also lives on in my email address (not putting that here, for fear of more spam) and AIM nickname (Lillymon444).
I also have a few others that I use or have used.
Yuramon (deprecated): Yuramon is used for my shared GameSpot/GameFAQs account and Yuramon4 (4 has become my standard number to use after getting frustrated at all my AIM picks being taken, and just putting 4s in until it worked) used to be my YouTube channel until it became AmysFantasies. Yuramon is of course another Digimon that can digivolve into Lillymon eventually.
Shiva (deprecated): One day I was in the #bobandgeorge IRC channel, and we were discussing Square's habit of picking names out of a hat when it comes to Final Fantasy summons. I spontaneously changed my nickname to Shiva, and it became my first alt. I soon stopped like it though, and it never spread much beyond its point of origin. It's now only used for my long-dormant Bob and George and EmuXHaven forum accounts.
Rhapsody: The first alt to still live, and a favourite of mine. This is now my first choice for most new account, and my alternate nickname on all IRC networks I frequent. Strangely enough, this is not derived from the sources many people think, but hit me while browsing Wikipedia and finding the
Rhapsody operating system (a NeXTSTEP-derived predecessor to Mac OS X Server and Mac OS X in general).
Serenity: Slowly coming into favour on some blogs, this is another alt. Again, the origins of this nickname are far from obvious. The most obvious choice is
the movie which would make total sense given my tastes in fiction, but I've actually never seen Firefly or Serenity. In fact I'm ashamed to admit that it comes from the wretched 4Kids dub of Yu-Gi-Oh. It ended up being on at the right time for me to watch, and I liked the name.
Epsilon: This is even more rarely used than Serenity, though I'll probably use it more in the future. The origins of this nickname are a secret...
