My real name is Rasmus, so I tought I should have something similar as a nick.
So I chose Razmanaz... but it was kinda annoying when I realized that Nazareth had released an album by the name Razamanaz.
(I like Nazareth now, but then I didn't know it...)
So I shortened it a little... by removing all the A's...

Hmmm this is a very interesting thread.

Years ago in High School I lived the gothic lifestyle. My fave teacher at the time would always say that I perplexed her. I personally got a kick out of it.
So about 7 yrs or so ago when I first got a computer and dial-up internet I went to Yahoo to create an account.

When I did so (after doing the normal use your name for an email account) I remembered my teacher always smiling and telling me how I perplexed her.

So I just changed it up a bit came up with PerplexingMan. Which has been since shorten to Perplexing for this site to be exact. First time I used it was when I intially registered for Bakabt (boxtorrents). Now I use it on several anime,game, and computer forums (I'm a moderate computer nerd).

I needed a name to deviate from my normal writing fandom. To remove myself from the cutsyness associated with the alternate, I picked this one. Now I find that it rather suits me, as a good friend often tells me "The Wicked is not just for show."

And besides, who would read fanfic by someone called SisterSweetheart if I'd picked that instead?

Hmm ... long story.

Well, back in the mid 1980's I was heavily into TSR paper and pencil rpg's. One of my fave creatures therein was the Myconid - a 1eADnD monster introduced in module A4 and drawn by Erol Otus. I loved it. Years after it first was printed about I randomly generated a Marvel pc and after making an extreme effort to try and bring some semblance of order out of the results I decided on using the Myconid as the "model" to do so and created a "super powered alien" that was a giant fungus at the same time and gave it the name "Mycanid".

Since then the nickname has stuck....

Why? Why not? Those who know what it means probably wouldn't chose it for themselves; those who don't know what it means probably wouldn't pick it. It makes it easier for me.

Well I'm known as Shaggy since 2001, so that's like my second name, the numbers 410, came from the history I created for a character in a role playing game, that's why my nick is Shaggy410

Short for Hieroglyphs since I like history to a certain extent, though for some reason it hit me after hearing Nas say papyrus in One Mic and I thought Hieroglyphs too lol.

I dont like to keep track of different handles for games / forums etc etc. so, I used this name first some 10 years ago in an mmorpg and just kinda stuck with it.
Theres nothing really behind it, I picked a diff name in that game originally, a GM forced me to change it on the spot and this just popped into my head, so theres no meaning behind it.

Around the interwebs I only have 2 other handles, I know some ppl like to haev new ones for everywhere but meh, too much hassle.
