Description Season 1: * Based on a light novel series by Igarashi Yuusaku, illustrated by Shaa.

The main character, Ayase Yuuto is your average boy without any special traits. He attends a private high school where he is one of the many and doesn't stand out, until, one day, he happens to discover the secret of the school princess Nogizaka Haruka, and his life changes drastically from there on.

Haruka, the school's most unattainable girl, is so idolized in the school for both, her looks and intelligence, that her classmates nickname her Nuit Étoile (The Silver Star of the Night) and Lumière du Clavier (The Shining Princess on the Piano). However, nobody knows that it is only a fake role she assumes to hide her true nature. In reality she is a die-hard fan of anime, manga, and otaku culture.

Description Season 2: * The adaptation of the light novel series by author Igarashi Yuusaku.

The story centres on the daily life of a respected high school girl, who hides the fact that she is an obsessive anime otaku.

Now this series is pretty darn fun. A very cute girl that likes anime and manga?! A boy who knows things about anime, wears glasses, but really doesn't care about it? Episode 10 and kicking, lots of sweet things and romance, and damn Haruka looks so cute in that angel cosplay!

Yep... Haruka is so damn moe it pretty much blasts the viewer out of his seat and onto the nearest wall. The series is tagged with "so moe it hurts" on AniDB for a reason

While it's just my opinion, I felt that the series kinda drifted a little and got a bit on the boring side towards the end. It's not terrible though; very far from the worst I've ever seen.

I preferred the chief maid to Haruka herself though.

I need to finish this series at some point. It is pretty funny and it is good to watch on day you want to relax and enjoy something.

Personally, I was smiling so much my face hurt by the end of the series... This isn't the type of anime I usually binge on but I ended up watching the first episode one day and the rest of the series the next. One of my friends refuses to believe me when I tell him that Haruka is the epitome of moe.
On a side note, was I the only one who laughed at the song selection for the annoying, rich, blond guy in the last two episodes. Dvorak's New World Symphony Mvt. 4 (concert band has cursed me for life).

Oh, I believe it. She's also the ultimate otaku fantasy stand-in. Just reverse the genders of the two leads, and you have the ultimate otaku romantic fantasy of a girl who's completely accepting of his hobby without rejecting him and considering him sub-human for it. (Unlike most real-life women in Japan, or so I hear.) But the show was fun enough, as long as you hadn't recently overdosed on other Mamiko Noto roles. There were plenty of otaku cultural references to distract from the crushingly predictable romantic storyline. (I swear, I could see the timing of every interrupted kiss.) Did anyone else notice that the preview in ep 9 was taken almost word-for-word from the preview in ep 10 of Please Teacher?

It seemed that a lot of the previews were taken from other series... I guess that was probably meant to add to the level of otaku in the show.

As for predictability... yea... no big suprises when it came to plot... 'someone gave her her first manga magazine when she was little'... GEE I wonder who that could have been.

I've found that I have the ability to predict plot in most every scenario, regardless if it is an anime or not. It isn't just the moe series that have highly predictable plotlines. Anyways, the way any parody works is if you get the joke, it isn't new.

If you keep saying that, I may end up watching the anime again. Haruka is just so mo~e ... damn! She's what you call an Otaku dream for a girl-friend.

DVD version were released on Box. Anyone seen them yet? I'm going to watch it this weekend to see if there is any difference. I'm sure there should be some uncensored parts ~

i finished the show in one sitting. i didn't notice any significant difference between the dvd and tvrips aside from the better image quality

oh yea, i'm actually watching this when i get bored from the main anime i'm watching. i think this is a good way that way it keeps me attached to anime and for retro playbacks on stuff i've already seen.

Ok, I'm 3 eps into it... and there's only one word I can think of using to describe this series: CUTE! That's not a word I use lightly either. Everything about it is just so damn cute. It's sooo not my cup of tea, but I'm still enjoying it
