Anyone hear about this third season yet?
I just stumbled on it a few moments ago!

woot for a third season!! I wonder who will be subbing it

they better explain what the hell happened and the holes they left in season 2, i'm anxious about this. the story is well developed so far and its one of my favorites.

Although I love higurashi series, I'm not expecting much out of the OVA being only 5 episodes, but I sure hope I am wrong.

a simple google + wiki = explanation of what the rei chapters are

I didn't actually read any of it just copy and paste, to avoid spoiling it for myself, read if you wish to find out the rei arcs

In the first season, not a whole lot was explained, however ... you can never deny the scary events that occured. Who wouldn't? I totally loved them all!

In the second season, specifically in the first episode and last episode (and other episodes which I can't recall) they switch to their mature age (forgot the characters names) and they babble about things, discussing the past and in some point the future. So that is my thing, my point. That's confusing, that doesn't fall in place and there is something missing. So I am hoping Season 3 would cover these things, and show us more violence and blood!

Pretty old thread, I want to start a new one to be honest to fix the first post ... but oh well.

Watching the 5 episode OVA now. Seen both seasons and they were 5/5! Love thrillers, gore and scary stuff. Episode 1 was complete fanservice. Episode 2 is the real stuff ... Everything is off and twisted. Wonder what's gonna happen ...

yup, ep 5 was great as well and the whole series is superb 10/11 for me, l only wish there was an ep or the whole arc commited to Rena's real personality, and her brains, l mean shes fucking supersmart and knowledgeble, wich she keeps prooving over the series, l don't remember the cat killing chapter gonna have to rewatch it.

but the whole series has my full attention. for all times, and my W7 wallpapers keep changing between Fate/Chizur/Horo/Higurashi, pure maddnes

I tried search for this thread but never found it and just added my comments about rei to the 'when they cry' thread.

But episode 2 + 5 were amusing as how they added Rena's psychotic outbursts :p

Rena was awesome,but 2-4 are the arc, the 5th was another story.

there are already BDs out if l see it correctly.

for some reason l could watch Higurashi all over non-stop, seriosuly, l think beating this show is impossible.

l think if any girl in the world was dangerous, l think Rena would be the last girl l would like to piss off, honestly, l don't mind dying, but l fear she would litterally tear me into small pieces, and feed to the dogs, altough she can be lovely and caring, she can be frightening like no hell can be, l vote for her to be the most dangerous woman in Anime universe.

First episode was alright, 2-4 were awesome as hell. Episode 5 was ... there, but well there wasn't ENOUGH ACTION >_<

no, thats all, Rei are OVAs, there is no more, the whole game was addapted in the series, and l think nothing can beat this show in this genre, also, ep 5 was a tribute for Rena, in the game it was the last special unlockable chapter after you beat the whole game and finished all possible endings, it was only for Rena and Keichi, since Rena always liked Keichi but they never had enough time for eachother, not including the S1 chapter wich was all Rena, but l wish there was a chapter where Rena had her smarts all out, altough in Rei5 she did show how smart she really is.

sadly this is the end of Higurashi, all thats left is for me to enjoy it every now and then, because this show is superb in the genre, and can't be beaten easily.

l'm currently at ep 24 of S1.

S1>S2>Special>5 Ovas, the special is Cat Killing chapter if l'm not mistaken, it was in the game also as an unlockable arc when you beat specciffic arcs.

Rena is simply awesome as a character, of all characters in this show shes simply out doing everyone, and she hides so many things, shes one of the most original persons l have seen in anime.

Haha Exactly what i think about Rika, do love Rena though personality great too, very funny and has a hell of a dark side, not quite to the extent of Mion or Shion but.

Still love to see a 3rd series as its such a great anime and the ova's are great to.

Yeah Uminkeo really seems to have shit the bed on that one thus far.

Rena is indeed the bomb, shes so sweet but as soon as her eyes do that scary "im about to kill you" look its like she has a twin sister.

All we can do is sit and hope for more! or like Havoc says, hope Umineko turns around
