He's getting touchy -

http://spectator.org/blog/2009/03/08/socialist-moi

Looks like he called back the NY Times to refute his socialism.  He sounded a bit annoyed - and like a complete and total MORON on the recording.   Want to hear it?   I challenge you to find it.   It's literally clogged with crap on Google - I could find nothing, and I looked good.

Obama - without his practiced teleprompter speaking skills - is a stuttering idiot.  "Uh, um, uh, ahem uh uhhhhhh.... "   He sounded like BUSH on the tape!

Nothing.

What? Obama the Red? Why the hell did he get a title of a Norwegian Viking who discovered Iceland and Greenland?

Blasphemy!
For one thing, Tiff is not on any level what I would call a typical American.  She's not what I would consider a typical person.  I don't know any other genius geneticist anime-fan martial artist marksman model-level beauties, do you?

He has such a hard life. I wish there was a crying boy screaming "LEAVE OBAMA ALONE" on youtube...

I couldn't find audio of it, but the NY times does have a transcript of it and the second call here.

It's sarcastic, but here's the first entry on "Leave Obama Alone".

All told, it's nice to see that the spirit of McCarthy is still alive and kicking.

Socialism is an authoritarian ideology.  By definition, in order to fall into the socialist category, a person has to favor government control of both economic and social aspects of the citizens lives.  Say what you will about his economic policy, but given Obama's support of civil rights, there's no way he could be considered a socialist.

I don't know why Kyanwan is trying to paint Obama as imbecilic - while his talents may be overstated by his supporters he is by no means deficient mentally.

It's difficult to tell what's socialism and what's responsible economic and social policy during the worst economy in recent history, I suppose they're not entirely different from one another.

Because "what got him into office was the economic downturn" and he's economically socialist. Calling him economically socialist takes too long, so socialist for short.

Funny that we socialists have more personal freedom then you.

I'm not sure either of you are worried about taking too long to state his political ideology so much as finding the proper phrasing to put him in a bad light. Consider kyanwan's use of the term Red, for example? It's the definition of Red-baiting.

I spent months talking about his political ideology during the election, I figured my opinion on his stances were known and out there. If you'd like I'll make multi-page posts about why I disagree with his ideology again.

You've got to hear the audio.  He sounded exactly like Bush.  After hearing this teleprompter garbage and how they're even supposedly feeding answers on them ... gah ...

I could stand up there and read a script, and sound "intelligent" too.  Anyone could.  I don't want an actor - I want someone with opinions, someone with some values ... a guy reading a script could well be Microsoft Sam.

Or my personal favorite - "Your President, Sweet America ... John Henry Eden".   ( He might make a better President. )

Of course he would. It's a highly intelligent AI that makes decision based on logic and is not affected by morality.

I've heard Obama flustered before, I just don't think those occasions warrant calling him idiot when he generally is quite thoughtful and deliberative when he gives answers - it just breaks the illusion of being a silver-tongued messiah.

I find it quite pathetic that people in Washington (and people in general) spend more time disparaging other politicians rather than getting down to the work at hand of fixing the economy.

With that said, however, I never got on Bush's case for stuttering and giving "ummm" kind of answers. There's far too much expectations on Presidents these days to be perfect at all times, and that's just not the case. If they were perfect, they probably wouldn't have run for the office to begin with.

Yeah, it's kind've like signing a bad bill, knowing it's a bad bill, but claiming it's last year's business and has nothing to do with your platform.

I find myself wondering:

1.) If this exact bill came to McCain were he elected, would be veto it?
2.) Would the Democrats even be ballsy enough to pork it if McCain were elected? It was clear they left the bill on the table for a new President. Shady, shady democrats.

Well, one thing he's doing like a socialist is tacking on ridiculous amount of debt.  From Rove's WSJ Article: Obama adding $3.2T to national debt in first 20 months 11 days in office, eclipsing $2.9T added during Bush's entire 8 yrs.

You do realize that if Obama hadn't signed that bill, the entire US government would be shut down today, right?  Obama didn't have any choice but to sign it.  McCain would have passed it for the same reason.

Also, Republicans had a large amount of pork in there as well.  You do make a good point about this bill being left on the table though.  Responsibility for the bill not being taken care of during the 110th session and waiting until the president and Congress had no choice but to pass it lies squarely on Speakers Reid and Pelosi.  I'm betting a lot of the earmarks were theirs.

Unfortunately redistributing the wealth is more commonly known as taxes, and this falls under the ideal of Socialism. There are many types: Libertarian Socialism, Communism, National Socialism, even something called "Social Democrat" which is what Obama is considered. Even in Canada. Obama is a socialist, most politicians are nowadays. Bush lowered taxes for a few people, but he didn't tear the IRS a new one.

Anyways, the dude (B. Obama) ran for public office, which would imply some sort of political leanings toward a taste for government programs and law-making. He was a Professor of Law, so he understands the American Legal System and where the ideas of socialism began in American politics: He can probably see which laws were enacted by Economic-Conservatives and Economic-Liberals.

He's also been in office for two months. It seems like a short period in which to scream "PINKO COMMIE!" at him; wait until May Day, that's a traditional Communist Holiday. Yes, he ran on the platform of a democrat, but hey, he talks a good game about being hopeful for the future, so let him try this increased socialism thing. You might even get a facsimile of Canada's famous Universal Health Care by 2012. ~_^
