I don't really care about too much fanservice or whatsover, as long as, no oversize boobs...  :D LOL
I like over-sized boobs  :D

Another thing I despise...  When every girl has boobs that would break her back, or are three times the size of their head...

*Sorry about continuing to post in an old topic*
But, come on, give me a break. There is no way in hell that anyone can claim that anime characters in any way resemble normal adult humans, boobs or no boobs. I mean, if you can live with semi-nonexistent noses, mouths that can literally change their size by a factor of ten, and eyes so big that if you had them, you would probably be blind, you might as well ignore the obvious physical stress such massive boobs would cause if they were real.
As I see it, anime exists entirely to entertain. Now, if every single anime that existed was just tons of fanservice and no quality writing or plot, I could see how many people would stop seeing it as an entertaining form of media. However, there are thousands of anime, all with varying degrees of fanservice, from none at all to way too much. Most shows seem to sit in the area between "none at all" and "just right" if you ask me, so, in answer to the topic question, I think that, at least today, there is _not_ too much fanservice in anime, nor does the fanservice that exists detract from the quality of most of the good anime out there.

On the topic of oversized eyes, with a few exceptions, the trend seems to have turned towards a style with eyes that are still larger than real life eyes, but considerably closer to reality than they previously were.

I'd say Minami-ke faces in serious-mode do that:

edit: too lazy to upload to imgshack etc, so just copy and paste links to browser if that'll work.

Ray, your images just show up as "Please don't hotlink" notices. Post them on photobucket or imageshack or something.

The best fanservice never feels forced, like the end of Toradora ep2(seriously, if it had been theatricalized, the entire audience would be cheering after that scene); however, even forced fanservice, ie the entirety of Kanon or K-ON!, if it is actually pleasing to watch.

Wait...Kanon had fan serviced? lol all that I can remember from it was the storyline, I guess I must have zoned out such thoughts as fan service in an awesome series thinking it wouldn't even need it.

I think he's talking about "MoeService," rather than the normal sexual/titillation stuff.

Got any old fansubs on HDD/DVD/CD? Please take a look at this thread.

I just finished Shuffle! on a recommendation, and I have to say that the excessive fan service in it probably made it worse.  I know, with the premise, it is impossible to have some, but they had way too much.

That being said, the teacher is way better than any of the other girls.   :D

UGH Rosario Vampire and Karin where the worst Fan service juxe machines ever. Including Princess Lover. Random Flash Shots for no apparent reason but to phss the majority off.
Did you know Satan was supposedly gods RIGHT HAND MAN, not his left. Blows your theory out of the water now doesn't it.
