...

As said, there will be a open beta, hopefully they will have patched it to 1.5. Becasue 1.0 is pretty meh compared to 1.5.
Also, if vanilla-wow is too much leveling for you, Aion will be too much, as I mentioned before that the leveling speed is similiar.

Uh, so?

Korean game still =  Buttsecks.  :)

If it's more like guild wars - I have all three guild wars expansions.  You want to know how much I liked guild wars?

I played for about a month.   Then I got seriously sick of it.   IT GOT OLD FAST.

I dunno ... I'm even afraid of GW2.   I know Arenanet is doing it ... but ... NcSoft sorta bought them out.

[ On a side note - as soon as I read a "description" of the game:  "two races of godly winged beings" - You know what went through my head?   I pictured a person vomiting into a toilet. ]

Nothing.

Everyone loves buttsecks. Even if it's korean it's more similiar to vanilla-wow, if you think vanilla-wow is like a korean game, then yes I have to agree there then.

Well, only good thing in GW were pvp, the rest were utter crap, and for pvp to be fun you needed a good guild <.< I'm kinda doubr how GW2 will turn out also...

That's not really correct, there are godly winged beings among the races which are granted divine power, not that it sounds better at all...

No matter if they're troll or not, I see no reason not to answer as he's not yet been rude or just plain stupid. Therefor I treat him the same as anyone else. If anything I see you more of a troll than kyanwan.

If comments like "Because this is Korean, it's automatically shit" and "When I read two godly winged beings, I imagined a person vomiting" aren't rude/stupid, then what is?

Because that's how alot of people feel when they hear korean mmo, so it's not something special. I puked at Aion at first doing early stages as it really were a korean-grind-feast at that time... Also The background story is something you can feel the urge of puking after reason, atleast I find that understandable.

No - you can turn on the TV here, in the USA - and hear a games/review show - let me quote word for word what was said:

"Oh look, another Korean mmo.   We won't bother reviewing it.   Just don't play it."

Yes, literally - word-for-word.

Should I run down the list of Korean "MMO" games?  Every single one "free-to-play" - with an item mall, and pay  10x more than a real MMO that has content, gameplay - without clicking incessantly on a bunch of different monsters that change color every so often - then you re-meet them 20 levels down the road ... because after 6 months of grinding, you're sure to have forgotten that you've seen them before.  But they still look ever so familiar.

If you don't know, that it's a fact that Korean MMOs are generally crappy -

you've been living in a cave.

If comments like "Because this is Korean, it's automatically shit" and "When I read two godly winged beings, I imagined a person vomiting" aren't rude/stupid, then what is?

Stupid is seeing proof - then ignoring it flat-out.  I'd like to see them prove the generalization wrong.

They've got a track record of 100% shit.   The odds are .99:1 that the game will be shit.

If it's not shit - then this will be the first Korean MMO that's not shit.

[ Then again, if it were free - it would still be shit.   And further - the storyline disgusts me.  :)    Just like Kingdom Hearts did (UHHHH ... I don't want to be answering to Goofy in a fucking game - Donald Duck - maybe, if you could read the swearing he does ... but Goofy - no, just fucking no.)  - just like Second Life did (with the: "ZOMG YOU CAN FLY!  THIS IS SO COOL!"   Uh, not it's not.) ]

It's definitely true that Korean MMOs are generally shovelware garbage. What you're failing to understand is that this is not simply a free to play shovelware MMO. Years of effort was put into making the game to please both Western and Eastern audiences. If you're all you're going to see in Aion is every other Korean MMO, then it's obviously not for you. This isn't what Aion is though, and maybe if you pulled your head out of your ass, your posts would consist of more than just HURR EVERY KOREAN GAME IS AUTOMATICALLY BAD AND AION IS THE SAME.

I'm quite happy I'm not in USA where people seem to be ignorant if they actually said such things.
It doesn't seem though you're actually read anything people answer for you, so why even bother being in here if you're only going to continue to flash the "KOREAN MMO"-sign? It's not like anyone is going to bother to attempt to convert you.
And no where have I stated that Koreans games aren't bad, I have even said that they tend to be quite horrible, so I cannot see why you think I've lived in a cave.

Yeah... you should probably try the game before automatically labeling it as "Korean Garbage".

Aion is pretty much World of Warcraft Asian Style (and that's not a bad thing)

I'll try it.   I suppose.

I wish I hadn't heard of it beforehand - b/c I'm running around like a headless chicken-little here ... all I know, is they've got pretty graphics ( a drawback in my books - usually, the better the graphics, the worse the content - for all games ) --- and it's, well, fodder for flashing that same tired old card - as was said.  :)

( On a side note - some of their other products sucked hard at first.   After sucking for a while - they got it right.  Samsung & Hyundai for example.  )
Nothing.

Actually I don't think the graphics are all that super amazing, it looks nice and it suits the game, but that's just my opinion. I rather like the fact that they actually put alot into perfomance instead so you shouldn't suffer high fps-loss just because alot of stuff going on. My computer can handle 10v10 without any bigger fps-loss, and I have 3ghz singlecore and a radeon9800 pro so it's seriously old(though more than 10v10 and I start to suffer from bigger fps-loss).

It's a big benefit for EU/NA to get Aion nearly a year after it's been released in Korea with the latest patch with all content. I actually think it's for the best we get it so much later than Korea which had issues with different stuff in the early versions.

Ahhh - I see.

Ok then.  That'll be the test.   See what they release.  If it's exactly like the current Korea version, then ... possibly good.

If they pull the same old tired "release what we released first at home, then release the updates slowly" -

:)

If they pull that - we've got just another Korean MMO.
Nothing.

I'm currently discussing with some friends of mine which server we'll be playing on. I preordered so we'll probably figure out which server soon. If anyone else wants to join up with us you're more than welcome to. We're planning on playing on an U.S. EST server. I'm still figuring out how many old WoW guildies are still with me, feel free if send me a PM if you want to play on the same server. It's always nice to know people ahead of time.
