If you want something that is fun and different from the typical MMO, try DDO. The combat is totally unlike WoW, race and class selection matters a lot and the game is instanced rather than being an open world. It's hard to be further from a WoW clone than this.
On topic, you guys are making me wish I had ~$50 to waste to try a new MMO.

OH!
I forgot to mention it. :D
D&D based on the good ol' rules - right? Where power wasn't about level - it was about you using your head, fighting right, gaining & crafting cool gear ... not to mention working your ass off here and there to get some little edge that pushes you over the top, just a bit.
Quick to max level, but forever to master. Kinda like Guild Wars - but it doesn't suck. That's D&D. :D
I seriously have to give DDO a run.
[ Oh man ... I miss my old NWN server. We had a veteran tabletop P&P DM who did handcrafted stuff ... it fucking ruled. ]
Arveene:
I'm enjoying this game more and more as I gain levels. Level 32 now. I've gotten a few nice spells that are a lot of fun in PvP ^^
If you're playing Elyos on Zikel let me know! Message me in game or something.
Chiyachan:
I like Aion cos I got Arveenes collector edition code for Aion Wings in Guild Wars :D

I tried it but just couldn't quite get into it. Went to Game Stop, pre-orded it ($5.00 deposit) and got my open beta key, and played it for the week of the 'open' beta. Glad I only paid $5.00 instead of pre-ordering it for $50.00 from the web site.
I did give a honest chance, and really wanted to like it b/c 3 of my friends went from WoW to it. But for me it didn't win out against WoW, and I can't justify pay for 2 MMO's. I only the time to get my money's worth from one. So I'm still on WoW, missing my 3 friends :(.
Sadly, I can't quite put my finger on why I didn't like it. Loved the graphics, game play was nice, just didn't draw me in ./shrug.

I'm enjoying Aion so far, although I'm hardly far enough in to know if I'll be playing it long-term. Is it revolutionary? No, not at all. Hopefully the pvp will be fun -- I'll find out when I get there. Personally, I'm not all that worried about only having 2 races or 2 factions to play. Me, I'm not looking for another game to suck up 10-30 hrs of time a week... just something to play casually a few hours here and there with my friends that isn't WoW, and has a bit of pve and pvp content.
I think sometimes people forget that an MMO is still only a game, and that it doesn't have to be a lifestyle. An MMO doesn't have to be everything to every player all the time. My feeling is, if a game is fun while I play it, then great, and when it stops being fun, I'll stop playing it. I enjoyed the beta enough that I thought Aion was worth spending the $50 on it, and if I'm sick of it in a month or two, I haven't wasted all that much time or money.
