Aion
Ixarku:
I won't deny that parts of the game feel grindy so far... leveling Aether Gathering already makes me want to gouge my eyes out. Leveling crafting skills is extremely repetitive, too, IMO. But in both cases, if you just do a bit here and there, it's not too bad. Or, if you multitask while leveling your crafting, it's OK.

is there a free trial ? l'd check out the game, but if there isn't l'm not gonna bother.

Decided to grab a copy yesterday. Total waste to me, I was hoping this would change the mmo scene for this genre, but. like its predecessors. Its going to die in my opinion...(Just like that mmo where you play as an animal and not your char) Completely bores me. Ill stick with Casual mmo's that are F2P.

You really thought it was going to innovate in any way? From what I am reading, it's the best WoW clone since LOTRO (which is the best WoW clone since WoW (which is the best WoW clone since EQ, you know, 10 years ago)). It's really well polished, and it's a very polished game. If you like WoW and look for a PvP-heavy game, this seems (from what I am reading) a good pick.
Otherwise, you're wasting your money.
Don't expect anything big from AAA MMOs in the next two years. Maybe after that, after a F2P game has brought an interesting concept or a studio decided to take a big risk. (The only exception might be CCP's Dusk 514 but that's a MMOFPS.)

l'm still waiting for SW : Old Republic to se how well it will be done, but l'm starting to have enough of MMOs since most WoW Clones don't even have the most useful thing in WoW, meaningly addons, WoW without Addons is useless, and then you start thinking, what other games that arent WoW have that WoW doesn't ? a story ? in an MMO a story is really minor, gameplay ? WoW has better gameplay in any aspect, classes ? WoW has 10 classes, out of witch every class has 3 ways on playing them in the cap level, where usually every class has focused talents for their own tree, PVP ? WoW has a lot PVP, the problem is, newbies are incredibly outpowered, since hardcore PVPers are overpowered by gear, while were at gear, WoW has the most gear i nany game, usually in games like wow you see some gear, and a few variations of the for example chest armor, you have, standard armor, better or enchanted armor, and superior armor, while in wow you have a standard armor that no one ever wears, uncommon armor with stat boosts you can use depending on your role, and you have a real lot of variations, and then you have superior or epix or rares, where you simply have the best stat combination you can find for your level (l'm not talking about the easy to get lvl 80 epix in ToC cuz thats really sick and one of the reasons l left the game)
if you still think Aion is that better than WOW, you are mistaken, Aion is just fresh and PVP opted players have a better chance of having a chance to win a match, same was with warhammer and other games that released after wow and are wow clones.
l think that WoW, with it's dramatic flaws, is the best mmo out there, l left because it went downhills terribly and for me it's no longer enjoyable, but if what l read about Aion is accurate, that game is simply not worth my time, or anyones time, it's just a clone of WoW with different graphics and a fresh start for PVP fans, and l'm not a PVP fan because my gear was rather weak and yet l was still owning stronger players pretty often, in a real PVP if the players fighting don't wear gear, it's just skill that counts, wich l proven many times over and over again.
l was rather well respected on my server tough a lot of ppl didn't even know me, wasn't very social, but ppl that knew me and wanted to get some pugs raiding and l was free they knew that when they picked me they had the half of the raid done.
then again, l always preffered fully pugged raid groups :) that was a lot more fun :D
