I hated that you had to find a certain word in the manual.. was it when you played it or installed it? I forget. =/

Ultima as in Ultima Online? Right, most theme parks are clones of a sandbox... ::)

Most XP-based systems are clones of an use-based systems...

--- Quote from: Drew on October 14, 2009, 03:59:30 AM ---So let's stop with the WoW-clone bullshit, because it's just the same as saying that every FPS ever made is a Doom clone, or every racer ever made is a... well, you get the point.

Seriously, it wasn't accurate five years ago, and it still isn't accurate today. Knock it off already.

Look, it's just a way to describe the archetype. Another term would be theme park but there are theme parks that are very unlike WoW's design so I find using theme parks, for that, to not really be accurate. For me, "WoW clone" does not carry a pejorative baggage. It would be silly to expect all MMOs to be revolutionary and quite different one from another. It's just a way to point out that X or Y game has not really purpose something vastly different from what has been offered in the last five years.

I like it, but I don't have much motivation to play it.  (Kinda MMO'd out at the moment)

And the more I log on to play it, the more I just want to find something else to do...

But (as I said) I think it's just me needing a break from the genre.

Take a few months off and play some console games that what I did when I quit wow and was much happier for it. It works really great if you like Rpgs like I did since I had like 8 back logged when I quit Wow. Im actually enjoying Aion but im sorta a sucker for the whole grind thing. The quests and stuff is pretty good until 20ish but then there is alot more grinding so if thats not your cup of tea you probably wont like it so much.

my therapy from WoW:

my GF said she will miss my shammy ownimg taurens (my shammy was Draenei female) wich didn't help me but she liked seeing me doing all that specially ot tauren wariors :D
my buddies from wow MSNed me all the time so that l was to go back lol, that didn't help much eighter :]
l uninstalled wow, that helped, now even if l wanted to it's a pain to instal and patch it up :D
l went to get another job (currently l have 3 jobs)
l spend a lot more time with my gf and friends
l spend a lot of time with anime as well, especially echii anime helped me out, skipping the echiiness it's quite funny
l play on my PS2 and PC instead of thinking about my shammy, but l still miss her, l started a drawing from the last screenie l did to comemmorate her, and gonna post it later on my guild forum.

it's best to do something else than thinking about MMO games when you were hooked to em.

Slysoft:
I was addicted to WoW. I went out at midnight to buy Wotlk, and I leveled from 70-80 in ~4 days (not because I'm fast, but because I played like 24 hours a day). I saw a video of Aion back in January and uninstalled WoW. My only regret was that I had just applied a 60 day game card a week ago.
