Aion
Borror0:
I tried to find Aion reviews but no one them were truly satisfying in terms of depth.
I have a few questions for those who tried it:
1. Can you list the biggest pros and cons of Aion? Justification a plus but not required.
2. How well and how fun is the flying?
3. Any other particularly cool, unique features that has less hype in the media?
4. How fun is the combat and how does it differentiate itself from other MMOs?
5. Worth playing when it goes live?
Thanks to anyone who answers. :)

(Please note, I've only played the beta up to level 21)
1. Some of the leveling can get tedious (oh shit... just like every mmo i've played!) and some of the quests can be done at way low levels if you're playing your class right (I think I did a level 17 quest at level 13 as a templar). However, the game UI is very user friendly and [most] quests are pretty straightforward (as in don't require dredging around the entire zone just to find some guys shoe, who lost it at an undisclosed location... nothing like that)
2. Flying is restricted to certain areas in the zones (kinda disappointed about this) HOWEVER its still extremely fun in the areas you can use it. And I believe that in the Abyss (end game) you can fly nearly everywhere (I think the higher levels you are, the more flight areas open up)
3. The only one I can think of is that every server is suppose to end up branching off and making their own lore. As in, different outcomes from server firsts and what not depending on who does what or how they do it will end up changing the server compared to another server (Please note, This is what I hear, and I'm not sure how in depth it will be. Could be pretty sweet though)
4. Combat for the most part is pretty straightforward. You got your Tanks/DPS/Heals. Each class has a combo system (think assassins from Guild Wars if you've played it) where you start with a base attack, which chains to another attack or effect (for example, Templars have a chain that goes Damage > Damage > Damage | or Damage > Shout (which ups your damage and prevents some damage)
5. Worth getting? Dunno. I'm most likely going to check it out when it goes live. I'm hoping that the end game material will be a challenge for most of the game unlike what Blizzard did with WoW and turned it into a cakewalk, where end game status didn't mean anything anymore.

1. if you are not a hardcore MMO'er (like me) and you enjoyed wow for the "easyness" compared to everquest and other "harder" mmo's (this is obviously subjective) this is a simple, easy to use, easy to go trough MMO. you dont need to spend your life in it.
2. its fun. .. untill you run out of energy and you have to fall to your death! lol. . . its really nice . . .free fly. . .i mean FREE FLY (in some zones tho) in most parts you can just like spread your wings when you jump off a cliff or something.
3. amazing spell graphs.
4. didnt get to play PvP since i didnt get that far (only played 2 days on each event. . .and had 2 chars lvl 15 each) but the combat on the creeps is nice when you get that "ultimate" type ofthingy . . .someone help me name that thing.
5. yes
