Vampire Knight Guilty
« on: March 21, 2009, 11:55:19 PM »
Seen the first season a long while ago (Chihiro, and they utterly sucked at translating and timing). I was wondering which is the best fansub I should aim at for this season. Also, this thread should be an open discussion about this series (use spoiler tags if you have to).

I have both seasons, but for the first I got the Anime Kraze rips as they were the best I could find. When I was getting Guilty, not too many groups were subbing it, So I ended up getting mixed episodes. But I watched it when it first came out, so many groups may have done it after that.

I'm personally after Mishicorp-PoWaH's version. Better than Ani-Kraze in my opinion.

When I got them for the first season they were the DVD rips rather large files, but looked great- I haven't checked to see how they are for guilty.

Is guilty better than the first season?

I found the first season started off strong and eventually sank into a malaise of tedium - so I was never inspired to continue.

I pretty much felt the same way, but I love the manga (even though it gets pretty convoluted as the plot thickens, imho) so maybe I should give it another go.

Guilty moves at a faster pace, and has more action, but as it follows the manga pretty faithfully, they had to move it along as it caught up to the manga quickly. Now the series is over, and the manga is still ongoing, but I thought how the anime ended was good.

just a question, why do you guys love VK anyway? Is it because of the graphics? Or because of its genre--> vampires. Or do you love naive girls then?  ??? Just a question...  ;) *peace*

vampires, characters, animation, plot, sound. i really like the series. alright i'll start my hunt for 2nd season.

edit -- Miishop, A-Kraze, Yuurisan, and Hatsuyuki. Those are the four fansubs I found. Miishop seemed to stopped after episode 10 (feb 10ish). Yuurisan and Hatsuyuki completed it (how're those two?) A-kraze is ... well ... dunno about them.

That became my deepest objection as well, after a certain amount of emo-Zero you stop caring whether he lives or not and just want the plot to go somewhere outside of filling in someone's back-story. The other problem was Vampire Knight was also set up early to be at least partly action oriented but didn't exactly actually follow through with it.

If Guilty's plot moves at a more steady pace I'm willing to watch it, to me, plot pace is was separates an adequate anime from an excellent one.

i guess, everybody does have their opinion and must respect it, so I respect your opinion..  :), but, i hate it when zero emotes like *toot toot*, T_T its like, its the end of the world, maybe the authors fault, in my point of view, if an author gives too much suffering to a character, he/she must kill that character once and for all, an audience like me suffers too watching my favorite character suffers like hell..  :-\ :'(

Ahh - Zero's like that in the manga too. He emo's all over the place. :| Then again, so does Kaname, but not to the same extent Zero does.

And Zero is always pushing Yuuki away trying not to admit things, trying not to reveal he may have some issues he needs to talk about etc. In fact, he can be downright mean to her. He suffers, but no more that what Kaname has been through.

And that's why he's earned the nickname 'Zemo' from me. :x Kaname just deals with this differently. He keeps them mostly to himself, so he won't trouble Yuuki, even though it kind of troubles her anyway. Girl's got emotional radar like a fox.

yeah... but who's fault is that? maybe, because the author's such an emo, that's why his/her characters are such an emo too... LOL  :-X but still... there are lots of emo's out there (like me) so its still 10 out of 10 ratings.. ^^,

The story's different than what I thought it would be. I figured it'd be typical fluffy shoujo beat fare. But it seems the series got an actual plot somewhere along the way. I think there is a little too much emo for my taste, but overall it's not bad (I still buy the manga whenever a new volume comes out).

Yeah, even if there's a bit (rather a lot) of emo-ness in the series/manga, we should buy and support the effort of the authors... at least to compensate the efforts of making those mangas.. the story is not bad.. it's just the emo-ness of zero..that's annoying.. but even though he's so much of an emo, i still love him...maybe i don't love him..maybe I just felt sorry for him... lol
