I loved season 1. Dropped season 2 after episode 7; it just didn't match up to the great atmosphere and mood set by Madhouse in season 1, IMO. It... "loli-fied" the characters too much, for want of a better word.

But it doesn't matter anyway since I'm following the manga. Thus far the anime follows the manga very closely, which is a good thing IMO. It misses out quite a bit of backstory though. The story fits the manga format nicely since it's not action-oriented.

And those who prefer the less loli girls, go grab the manga. A new character gets introduced later on, who's even older than Triela (I think; can't remember age) ^_~
Well, I didn't watch far enough into Season 2 to know if she's appeared in the anime or not, anyway; it's possible she's in the anime too in the later episodes :P

[edit] Ok nevermind, just confirmed that she hasn't appeared in the anime yet. Wiki puts her age as 16 (I haven't confirmed this with the manga yet) so... probably legal, huh.

*snort* 16 is still too young :P

It sounds like Season 2 isn't very good. That's rather disappointing :(

Agreed, think guess it will turn out similiar to claymore for me, watch near the end and then switch to the manga for continuation.

Storyline is okay, everything else ... yes, everything else = garbage. Even the animation. Season 1 completely annihilates season 2 in every corner and the funny thing is, season 1 is a 2003 release and season 2 is a 2008 release.

But then again, not really a fair comparison, since season 1 is a Madhouse release, and season 2 is an Artland release, LOL.

In japan 14 is the transition age in USA its 18 that why.
Anyways I watched and loved season one, light storyline, but has a good feeling to it, and the artwork is very good too, I really loved the story about the Pasta prince, so saddd where can I get S2 just for the sake of "been there done that" the prospects don't look to good based on previous posts

I .......... well, dropped season 2 on episode 6ish .... As soon as I got my hands loaded with Toradora! I've completely been happy about this decision. I'll pick it up around the weekend. Season 2 in Gunslinger Girl is .... crap. =/

the manga is still ongoing, could still end up having a season 3 of GG (which, fora nyone reading the manga, would be awesome since petrushka is soooooo hot and one of the most lifelike characters. The manga is way better than the anime.

The stalling of GSG2 (due to being licensed) got me into the manga, which is excellent.  You should buy the ones available in your country; the rest are on Manga Fox.

While the anime follows the manga fairly well, it somehow loses all of the feeling of it.  The ending was annoying, too, because they altered it a bit to make it all happy, like an ending should be.

The one thing that bothered me the most was the fact that they
(click to show/hide)
created their own character, who is the flattest, more boring character I've ever seen!  She doesn't even get any backstory or anything (that I remember, it's been a while since I watched the first half, and I doubt I will again), but just appears randomly to do things like sniff out people's trails!  Grr!

My roommates will attest to the fact that I was always angry after watching the show.  I felt I had to finish it though, for the sake of completeness, and the fact that, crappy as it is, it's nice to see full-color motion of the girls in action.

[kureshii-edit] No manga spoilers in this thread, please. If you want to post manga spoilers openly, make a new thread in Manga forum.
Whoops!  Sorry, I'm usually the one behind in things, so I forget that sometimes I'm the one who knows more!
